Introduction

Jane Eyre was not met with a warm critical reception when it was released. Like Wuthering Heights, critics thought it was too dark and that the narrative style was ineffective. Thankfully, the public thought differently and the story has managed to endure those hardships. Today, people recognize the story for what it is, a classic. Jane's journey from a powerless ten-year-old to a strong woman who decides to forgive the man she loves and takes care of him. She is one of the strongest women in literature and there are plenty of wonderful names fto give to your new dog.

Jane Eyre Inspired Dog Name Considerations

When considering names for this guide, we had a lot of material to choose from. There is only one book, and we don't think there would be a need for a sequel. The story was wrapped up very nicely, and we do not need any extra information. There are a few adaptations, however. We enjoyed the adaptations since each one brought something new to the story or was told from someone else's perspective. This meant that we could choose names from the story itself as well as from the various actors and actresses that portrayed the different characters.

We also decided to include some era-appropriate names that Charlotte Bronte would have heard or even known some people with these names. It does not matter which name you choose, each name on this list will include your dog in the world of Jane Eyre. The names aren't pretentious, so you do not have to worry about your dog (or you) coming across as a snob, but they are clever enough to make people who are familiar with the story smile. Who knows? Jane herself might have chosen one of these names for her dog. We're sure Jane would have been a dog person.
