Nikita Inspired Dog Names

The television show Nikita, which aired from 2010 to 2013, received a lot of attention and praise throughout its entire run. The television series was based on Luc Besson’s 1990 film Nikita. The lead character, played by actress Maggie Q, is a rogue operative who comes out of hiding and takes revenge on the people who hurt her. While the entire series has been generally praised by critics and television viewers, Maggie Q’s performance as Nikita has been singled out and critically acclaimed.

Maggie Q is an American actress and model. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, she eventually left her home town in order to earn money and continue her studies since her parents were unable to assist her financially. It was during this time that she tried modeling and became mildly successful in the field while she was in Hong Kong. While in Hong Kong, she caught a huge break after being handpicked by superstar Jackie Chan. He personally trained her because he saw a potential in her to become an action star herself. In later interviews, Q stated that Chan taught her the importance of doing her own stunts, which she still does to this day.

While she has been acting since 1998, it was in 2006 when she landed a Hollywood role alongside Tom Cruise in the film Mission: Impossible III. She played the role of Zhen, a member of the IMF team. From there, Q became known as a bona fide action star and has gone on to star in various action films, including Live Free or Die Hard. Shortly after, she was cast for the main role in the TV series Nikita, which helped catapult her to stardom and turned her into a household name.

Aside from being one of Hollywood’s most badass women, Maggie Q is also known for being an outspoken activist for animal rights. Since she was a child, she has developed a love for animals. In fact, there was a time when she wanted to take up veterinary science. Her activism has also led her to become a vegetarian, a practice that she has maintained for years. She is also the proud furparent of adorable rescue dogs named Ladybird and Cesar.

Ladybird, or simply Lady, was a rescue from a local shelter in Hong Kong. When Q passed by the center to make a donation, she decided to take a peek at the animals, where she met Lady. She found out that the pup has been returned five different times, which she felt was all the more reason for her to take Lady home. Her other furbaby, Cesar, is a shepherd-mix rescue from China’s Animals Asia Foundation. According to Q, Cesar was already scheduled to be put down because of a deformity wherein his right front leg was shorter than his left one. Despite the protests of the shelter, Q adopted Cesar without hesitation. After a successful operation, he is now able to walk freely like a normal dog.
