Activity description
We just want to say that your dog makes a great audience if you don’t already know this. Who else will stare at you attentively as you walk about the room, filling it with great emotion? Your doggo is the pawfect onlooker. They’ll lend you their eyeballs and ears. They’ll make you feel that pressure to perform as they gaze at you from the sofa or dog bed on the porch. When you see their head tilt to the side, you’ll know you need to give it a little extra. When they wag their tails and cheer you on with a bark, you know you have finally arrived!
Step
1
Cuddle and read
Before you do anything, see your material. Cuddle up with your pup on the porch swing or on the sofa. Read the lines to yourself as you pet your pooch, or read them aloud. Make notes. Your fur baby won’t mind. They love to hear your voice because they love it when you’re home and with them.
Step
2
Practice your lines
Set your dog up with a bed or stack of pillows, and give them a little treat for being a good sport. Run your lines with them watching. We’re serious. They are definitely a live body, and dogs are smart. Also, just feeling those eyes on you will give you that push you need to remember your role.
Step
3
Rehearse while doing another activity
Take your dog for a walk or play frisbee as you recite your lines for the upcoming audition, film, or play. Sometimes, you’ll find that it does you some good to break away from full-focus on the lines and plays themselves. Get out, breathe in fresh air, and loosen up. Often, clearing your head will help you as you continue to memorize.

Activity description
So, you think you can act? We know you can! You’re serious about your acting career, but we know you’re serious about your pup as well. But cut loose! Have a little fun. If you haven’t tried your hand at directing or playwriting yet, then now is the time to attempt it. Your dog will love anything you propose, as long as they get to be involved. So, grab your laptop or notebook, and garner some inspiration. We recommend thinking about the personality of your dog. Since they’ll have one of the leading roles, think about what they’d do and say. If you simply want to focus on acting, then find a script online and roll with it. The point is to have fun and combine your canine love with your acting passion.
Step
1
Choose a play or write one
Sometimes, with your pup, it’s best to go the comical direction. They listen, but when you perform, who knows what they’ll do. Also, it’s just great to laugh after a long day or week at work. (You’re going to show this to your pals, right? Right!) You might even decide to write your own script inspired by real-life events. Select some costumes and props for sure!
Step
2
Practice with your dog
Bring along treats for this part of the activity. As you direct your dog in what to do, you’ll need them. You may even have to teach them a few new tricks or commands, and treats will definitely help with that. Just practice a few times each day, and they’ll get the hang of it in no time. You’ve got a smart fur child on your hands, after all.
Step
3
Dinner and a show
Don’t let your and your pup’s talent and hard work go to waste! Invite your family, friends, new co-workers, and even pals with pets over for dinner. When things slow down, offer to perform the play. Everyone will have a great laugh, we’re sure. It’ll certainly be an evening to remember.

Activity description
It’s time to unwind after a trying week at work, and your pup wants to unwind with you. What do you do? Why, watch a performance with adorable dog actors, of course! You will never regret watching a film, TV show, or play with dogs in it. Even if the plot is weird or lame, at least you get to stare at precious puppies. What could be better? Hug your dog, and let them know that they’re your number one. Maybe you can pick up a few acting tips from the canine family as you and your fur baby bond. Those dogs on the screen sure do know how to make us ooh and ahh!
Step
1
Choose something to watch
Do an Internet search for doggie stars and the films, television shows, and actual plays they perform in. You’ll probably discover a lot. Talk to your fellow actors and actresses about which may be the best, or set out to form your own opinion. Even if the movie is silly, sometimes it’s good and healthy to laugh. Your pup can sense when you’re happy and enjoying yourself. It puts them at ease.
Step
2
Grab the snacks
You should pour yourself a glass of whatever you’re having and pop some popcorn and grab the chocolate (or fruit). We’ll leave the snacks up to you. Just don’t forget to grab a few munchies for your fluffy sidekick as well. Whether they’re curled up on the sofa or waiting for you outside, they’ll definitely be excited about some treats!
Step
3
Cuddle up and enjoy
Even if your dog stays outdoors, you can still cuddle up and enjoy a movie together. Technology goes with us everywhere these days, so taking your laptop or tablet out onto the patio where your fur baby can spend some time with you shouldn’t be a difficult task. They’ll love sitting close to you and looking at their own kind act out their part.

More Fun Ideas...

Lights! Camera! Action!

Teach your dog some tricks so that they can act in a homemade movie. Write a script, grab your camera or phone, and direct your pup in a film for your friends. These are great gifts for holidays and birthdays!

Read a Beloved Script for Fun

Your dog loves to hear their name, so read through a beloved script in its entirety (or just your favorite act) with your pup. Occasionally, throw their name in for fun. They’ll light up when you do!

Conclusion

Break a leg as you try some of these actor-inspired, dog-inclusive activities! And take a bow (wow) when your doggo absolutely loves them. No matter what, we can almost guarantee that your pup will adore hanging out with you. If you are part of the activity, then it’s a winner in their eyes.
