I'm Karen and I have had dogs as pets throughout my life. One of my favorite activities is dog walking, both my own dog and the dogs of my friends. There is something very satisfying to see a dog's tail wagging with enjoyment as they get ready for their walk and then continue wagging their tail as they complete their walk!

“Dedicated, vigilant walker with attention to detail”

Hi! My name is Luis and I just love dogs! They always bring a big smile to my face. I've been a walker for 2 years. I grew up with a cocker spaniel named Lulu and we always had other pets like fish, birds, rabbits, etc, so I know how important it is to care of our animal family members to keep them happy and healthy. I grew up in Atlanta, so I am very familiar with different neighborhoods in town and best routes to take. I love the outdoors, and can't wait to spend some time with your cute pup!

I have always loved animals as a child and would often bring stray dogs home and care for them; as I was an outcast kid/teen with little to no friends. Ever since I can remember I have always had some type of animal. From dogs, birds, crawfish, hamsters, rabbits, geico, and a few turtles.I even worked at the local zoo at the camel ride, placing kids on the saddle and would often pet the camels head. My recent experience with 2 displaced cats (Bob) a Tabby and (Cali) a Calico is what changed my entire life and connection with animals.About 2 Years ago, I were continuously bleeding and had gotten to a point where I’d unknowingly loss 2/3 of my blood. A few nights in a row Bob would be caught curled up in a fetal position on my abdominal purring so hard he were vibrating. After the second time of Bob displaying this behavior, I decided to go to the hospital and was taken into emergency surgery and blood transfusion.I remembered that cats (Spinx) were considered healing creatures back in the Egyptian days and I just felt like Bob was trying to heal/help me.Fast forward, the doctors told me had I not come when I did, there’d be nothing they could’ve done for me.My respect and appreciation for animals and their innate instincts and abilities is forever at an all time high! I currently own a Beta fish but living in the Buckhead area provides me the opportunity in meeting dogs on a daily basis.

Downtown

Downtown Atlanta is the "ultimutt" blend of urban excitement and Southern charm. There’s plenty for you and your pup to do, including taking in the spectacular view of the city skyline at Woodruff Park, a popular place for locals, out-of-towners, and professional dog walkers in Atlanta. Another park that offers a sniffin’ good time for leashed dogs is Centennial Olympic Park. Athletes and lazy lapdogs alike will love a wander around the Fountain of Rings Plaza, a colorful monument to the 1996 Olympic Games. When your bellies start rumbling, treat yourselves to a burger or a cup of joe at one of downtown's many dog-friendly alfresco eateries. Or, if you'd prefer a little retail therapy instead, hit the nearby pet-friendly boutique with your doggy diva.

Midtown Atlanta is a super hip neighborhood for pups and people alike. It's easy to chow down with your hound in Midtown, where you'll find pup-friendly patios serving up everything from Chinese and Italian fare to Southern soul food and light bites. You'll find even more canine-friendly cafes and bars just a short walk south in Tech Square. Looking for a place to work off your meal? Piedmont Dog Park, a 3-acre off-leash zone with separately fenced areas for large and small dogs, is the "pawfect" spot for Lassie to feel the wind in their fur. If you'd prefer some on-leash exercise, hit the trails and soak up some scenic views of the cityscape.

Atlantic Station

Atlantic Station is a quaint, compact neighborhood just a bone's throw from Midtown. Dubbed one of the "most walkable neighborhoods of Atlanta", Atlantic Station is a wagtastic spot to take your woofer for a walk past the neighborhood's shopping outlet. If Sparky needs some fresh air, amble around Millennium Gate, a museum-slash-park and a firm favorite with Atlanta dog walkers. The true treasure for your Terrier, though, is Atlantic Station Dog Park! This small park is open to doggos of all sizes, so it may not be the best option for protective pups or those who aren't exactly friendly with most mutts. When you've had all the off-leash fun you can handle, leash up and take a short walk south into Home Park, where you'll find dog-friendly dining options galore, from Mexican and Asian fare to burgers and pub grub.

This off-leash area features 5 acres split into separately fenced areas for pups large and small. Freedom Barkway Dog Park is also located in O4W, so your pal is truly spoiled for choice! After your romp, leash up and take a walk about the neighborhood to discover succulent seafood, tantalizing tacos, and Southern-style brunch. Old Fourth Ward's dog-friendly taverns and cocktail bars are a "grrreat" place to grab a drink on a hot summer day.

Escape the buzz of downtown and venture to the southside of Atlanta. The vibrant street art of Lakewood Heights Historic District adds a pop of color to the city streets and makes for the perfect selfie opportunity with Spot. Your doggo's number-one destination will be South Bend Dog Park. This enclosed area within South Bend Park comes complete with separately fenced sections for big woofers and petite pups, as well as waste baggies to make cleanup a breeze. While you won't find any dog-friendly eateries in this area, a handful of restaurants offer takeout options, so grab a doggy bag before heading back home.
