Hope all is well, my name is DeCarlo Tatum Jr, I live in Atlanta Ga. My experience with dogs has been an amazing journey. My love for dogs begin at a young age, in high school I wanted to become a Veterinarian. After I graduated from high school, I was bestowed the opportunity to intern as a vet tech at the Atlanta Humane Society for a summer project, in the city of Atlanta. It was an amazing experience, I also had the opportunity to work for one of the most popular dog day cares in Atlanta, Ga, Wag A Lot. There, I bathed dogs, dog sit and I was a lead Wag for both yards.Last but not least I cared for my father and mother dogs ( American PitBulls) for 12years!! I believe that your pet and I will develop a great bond, I believe that pets are people too!!

It’s a fact that being active keeps our bodies healthy, and the same is true for our dogs. Daily exercise can keep your dog from becoming obese, which lessons their risk of arthritis, heart disease and diabetes, while adding years to their lifespan. Whether taking a walk around the block, or throughout the city on one of Atlanta’s trails, you’ll be helping you and your pup live your best lives.
While some dogs may just sleep the day away, others may find something to do when you are gone. Bored dogs have been known to dig, scratch and chew their way to excitement, but you don’t have to come home to destroyed shoes. Bring some spice into your dog’s life and help them remain calm while you are away with a daily walk. For new adventures, take your dog on a walking tour of the city, or sniff around Downtown’s Centennial Dog Park in the center of it all.
What do anxious dogs and high-energy dogs have in common? They can both benefit by rubbing noses with their peers. Socializing with other dogs can help scared pups build confidence to overcome their fears, while active dogs can find playmates to safely expend that energy. Taking a walk to one of the many dog parks in Atlanta is a great way to meet new furiends.
How much are dog walking rates in Atlanta? With several services offering walks in this bustling city, you could get your dog moving on a 20-minute walk for $22, or even a long 60-minute walk for up to $44. Many walking companies work on the weekdays during business hours to accommodate working pawrents, and those that do after hour walks could charge an additional $10. If you need a weekend walk, you may have $5 added on to your rate. And if your pup needs to get out asap, you could be charged yet another $10 for a same day booking.
Wag! knows that not everyone is on the same schedule, so we make walking your dog easy by being available for your pup seven days a week. With 20-minute walks that average $15, 30-minute walks for about $20, and 60-minute walks for around $30, fees are never added for early morning, late night or weekend walks. And when you just can’t get home in time, you can book an on-demand walk for the same day at no extra cost.
Dog walkers with Wag! are thoroughly vetted and insured, and take your dog’s happiness and safety seriously. Real time GPS tracking through the Wag! app lets you know where your dog is at all times, and live updates from your walker keeps you in the loop. Atlanta offers lots of urban areas and green spaces for you and your pup to explore. For off leash fun, head to the Old Fourth Ward, one of Atlanta's oldest districts that features everything from historic sites to buzzing nightlife. The Renaissance Dog Park is the local hangout for hounds that stretches over 5-acres. Freedom Barkway Dog Park, also in O4W, is conveniently located near dog-friendly taverns where you can grab a drink on a hot summer day.
Midtown is a super hip area filled with several pup-friendly patios serving everything from Chinese to Southern soul food. Work off your meal at the Piedmont Dog Park, a 3-acre off-leash zone with separate spaces for large and small dogs. From the park, you can finish tiring out your pooch by jumping on the Atlanta Beltline Eastside Trail for a 3-mile trek through the city.
For one of the "most walkable neighborhoods of Atlanta", head to Atlantic Station just a bone's throw from Midtown. Your pup will love the Atlantic Station Dog Park, a small space open to doggos of all sizes, just be sure your small pup is comfortable running with the big dogs.
Escape the buzz of downtown and venture to the Lakewood Heights Historic District where vibrant street art peppers the way to the South Bend Dog Park. This enclosed area comes complete with separate sections for big woofers and petite pups, and waste baggies for easy cleanup.
When your dog is ready to get back to nature, plan an afternoon in the Morningside-Lenox Park neighborhood for a stroll through the Morningside Nature Preserve. With 2-miles of trails through forests and fields, this puptastic spot even boasts a beach you can enjoy with your pup. Just south, the Herbert Taylor Park offers another green oasis that’s bisected by a creek where your dog can get a splash in too!
Before heading out, be sure your dog is fully vaccinated and licensed, with a collar and tags. Keep your dog leashed whenever outside of any designated off leash areas, and always have your dog in sight and under control. Grab clean-up bags for the adventure, and promptly pick up after your pup wherever you travel in the city.
With so much to see in historic Atlanta, walks are surely a favorite part of your dog’s day. But when life has kept you from the adventure, you can rest easy knowing Wag! is there to give your dog the exercise and excitement they crave.
Dog walkers with Wag! know that popular Atlanta breeds like Labradors and Golden Retrievers need lots of action, and can tucker them out on frequent 60-minute walks. Tiny Yorkies and playful Shih Tzus also have energy to spend, but may prefer shorter 20-minute spins around the neighborhood. And if your older Pit Bull has lost the pep in their step, Wag! Pet Caregivers can Drop-In at home to bring some sunshine into their day too.
When you are looking for a dog walker, just download the Wag! app, select a date and time, then choose the best length of walk for your dog. With on-demand walks in the same day, one-time walks when your pup needs them most, and recurring walks for those boisterous furballs who need all the exercise they can get, you can create the pawfect walk for your furry bestie. And with GPS tracking, and text and video messaging from your walker, you can feel safe while your dog enjoys their day out.
Don’t let your dog twiddle their paws at home, book a walk with Wag! today!
Atlantic Station is a quaint, compact neighborhood just a bone's throw from Midtown. Dubbed one of the "most walkable neighborhoods of Atlanta", Atlantic Station is a wagtastic spot to take your woofer for a walk past the neighborhood's shopping outlet. If Sparky needs some fresh air, amble around Millennium Gate, a museum-slash-park and a firm favorite with Atlanta dog walkers. The true treasure for your Terrier, though, is Atlantic Station Dog Park! This small park is open to doggos of all sizes, so it may not be the best option for protective pups or those who aren't exactly friendly with most mutts. When you've had all the off-leash fun you can handle, leash up and take a short walk south into Home Park, where you'll find dog-friendly dining options galore, from Mexican and Asian fare to burgers and pub grub.
Downtown Atlanta is the "ultimutt" blend of urban excitement and Southern charm. Another park that offers a sniffin’ good time for leashed dogs is Centennial Olympic Park. Athletes and lazy lapdogs alike will love a wander around the Fountain of Rings Plaza, a colorful monument to the 1996 Olympic Games. When your bellies start rumbling, treat yourselves to a burger or a cup of joe at one of downtown's many dog-friendly alfresco eateries. Or, if you'd prefer a little retail therapy instead, hit the nearby pet-friendly boutique with your doggy diva.
Escape the buzz of downtown and venture to the southside of Atlanta. The vibrant street art of Lakewood Heights Historic District adds a pop of color to the city streets and makes for the perfect selfie opportunity with Spot.
