The ravine near the creek has some rough terrain so remember that creeks with running water can present a hazard to dogs and people due to currents. Be careful when walking around the creek area.
If you travel up Vernon Creek Road to Brush Creek-Fort Road, you can find a trailhead that provides a greenway that extends into the heavily treed natural area. This is a great place to explore with your dog, but be aware that wildlife in this area may not take kindly to being disturbed. Keep your pup on a leash throughout your strolls here.
