Bridgeport's East End neighborhood is a sprawling residential area bordered by St. Michael's Cemetery to the east and the Long Island Sound to the southwest. The region is technically a peninsula and with easy access to the waterfront, the East End is a popular spot for fishing and boating. There are several yacht clubs, a waterfront restaurant, and a few waterfront parks to enjoy. Don't confuse the East End with the East Side, another Bridgeport neighborhood just west of the East End!

One of Bridgeport's most historic neighborhoods, Deacon's Point, is located in the western part of the neighborhood. Take a walk down Seaview Avenue to view beautiful 19th-century homes. This historic neighborhood was designed to be walkable, so you'll be sure to enjoy a walk with your pet exploring the community. As a seaside city, Bridgeport's climate is temperate with coastal influence. Temperatures average between 30 and 80 degrees year-round, but always check the weather before heading out!

The East End is a relatively quiet area where you and your pet can enjoy an easy neighborhood walk. There's grass everywhere, if needed, for a quick pit stop and several tree-lined streets offer shade during sunny days. As it's surrounded by water, the community is a great place for water lovers! A walk along Seaview Avenue features views of boats docked and sailing along the Long Island Sound. The East End is also a very historic neighborhood and three places within its boundaries are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, making it a place for lovers of historical architecture as well.

There are a few places to exercise caution while walking your pup in the East End. Interstate 95, the turnpike, cuts directly through the area. Do your best to avoid walking near the exit and entrance ramps, especially if your pet isn't a fan of cars.

After a quick ride across the sound, you'll arrive at the beach where you can sit and enjoy the water or take a walk through the park. There are also several short hiking paths and a boardwalk.

If you want to stay on the mainland, you'll find that Newfield Park is a good spot to sit under the shade and watch a baseball game or tennis match. The adjacent Jessup Park features several large picnic tables.

In the northern part of the East End, Johnson Oak Park has plenty of grass and a playground. There's also plenty of grassy spots scattered throughout the neighborhood that you'll easily find on any daily walk or outing with your pet.
