Displaced People and Pets Need Your Help

An estimated 50,000 people have evacuated their homes to escape the latest wildfires raging in California.

California has had an unusually active fire season to date, with 12,000 firefighters battling 17 significant fires as of July 29, and the worst part of fire season is still ahead. The destruction and threat to life and livelihoods is huge and sobering. The Carr Fire (the largest of these fires) has burned more than 95,000 acres, claiming six lives and destroying 966 structures, including 723 homes. Another 5,000 structures are still in danger from this fire alone, and the loss to wildlife is not known.

People, pets, and wildlife need your help now. GreaterGood.org is partnering with Wag! to continue to supply cash grants and in–kind donations of vital supplies to aid temporary pet shelters and relief organizations on the ground.

GreaterGood.org, an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization devoted to improving the health and well-being of people, pets, and the planet, is working with animal-sheltering teams to help relinquished pets find safe passage to partners as well as provide safe food for them. Additionally, GreaterGood.org is supporting humanitarian response partners as they provide basic resources for families unable to return home until the danger has passed.

Donations are needed to support these important emergency-relief efforts. Please consider donating to the GreaterGood.org by clicking here

Wag! is committed to helping save pet and pet parent victims affected by these fires. You can help us by making a direct donation. All gifts are 100% tax-deductible in the US as allowable by law.
