When Dr. Mathis first met Graycie the Pittbull she was emaciated, dehydrated, anemic, hypothermic and close to death. Found on the side of a dirt road, she was quickly taken College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia for treatment. Slowly, she began to gain weight and confidence but wasn't eating regularly and was afraid of people. So what did he decide to do? He climbed into Graycie’s cage and ate his breakfast while she ate hers, making for a beautiful bonding moment that was caught on camera.
"She's been eating for the past 2 days, but not so comfortably, unless I leave the room, so today I decided to sit in the cage with her," he wrote on Facebook. "Hopefully, she'll learn to trust people quickly, and be ready for a home and family very soon."
