Wag! Offers NYC Animal-Welfare Grants

Wag! has created a community-impact grant program for New York City-based animal-welfare organizations.

We'll award grants up to $5,000 each to nonprofit 501(c)3 organizations that demonstrate excellence and growth in three impact areas:

• Dog Parks/Runs: includes organizations or projects focused on renovating and improving existing dog parks and runs in New York City.

• Rescue Organizations: includes organizations or projects dedicated to taking in unwanted, abandoned, abused, or stray dogs and helping them find suitable homes.

• Shelters: includes organizations or projects that provide abandoned dogs with quality food, shelter, and medical attention in efforts to find them permanent homes.

Proposals must fall within these impact areas to be considered, and applicants must operate within New York City. The grant may be used for program/project support or for general operating support.

Helping rescue pets has been part of Wag!’s mission since our founding. Through a partnership with the Rescue Bank, Wag! has donated proceeds from every walk to provide more than 5 million meals and counting to rescue dogs nationwide. Through this new grant program, Wag! is striving to make an impact in communities, like New York City, by supporting the work of local animal-welfare organizations to improve the quality of life for dogs.

Wag! will accept applications for the 2018 grant cycle on a rolling basis with the first round of applications being considered starting July 23, 2018. Notification of awards will be announced on an ongoing basis. We highly encourage organizations to apply as soon as possible to increase the opportunity of being awarded a grant.
