“All about the tippity tapities and butt wiggles.”
I am a dog mom myself. I have three amazing girls and one boy between the ages of 1 and 2 years old. The twins, as I like to call them, are Jack Russell Chihuahua mixes. They are sisters from the same litter and are both one year old. The oldest is a Chihuahua Pomeranian and she is 2 years old. The youngest is a Boxer mix and he’s about 9 months old!

Is your dog keeping themselves busy by chewing carpets and shoes? It could be that it’s time to start teaching them tricky tasks as a form of mental stimulation. Introduce your dog to the world of performing by instructing them on how to bow after showing off. The idea is to differentiate between the “lie down” command and “bow.” Once it’s achieved, your pooch will be ready to even meet royalty!
A dog who can bark at intruders isn’t all that rare. What will make your vocal pooch special is teaching them to only bark on command and then to be immediately quiet at your request. Your clever pooch needs to know how to “speak” first. Then put a halt to the noise by teaching them “quiet.” It’s possible, but it takes patience and positive reward training.
Put your dog’s attributes to work by utilizing their innate skills. Do they love to track squirrels? Join a barn hunt club. Having trouble stopping them from jumping on and off the bed? Look to agility to expend their energy! Build on your pooch’s strengths to make them well-rounded pups.
Your pooch is important to you, and that’s why training them should be at the top of the list of pet parenting priorities. How much does it cost to train your dog?
In-home private training in Aliso Viejo is typically charged at an hourly rate. On average, fees run about $100 per hour. Some Aliso Viejo trainers will combine lessons into packages, making the cost drop somewhat. Keep in mind there may be extra fees for travel expenses if your chosen trainer has to come far.
Puppy training, adolescent lessons, and mature dog instruction may vary in price. Group lessons for dogs of all ages can cost between $100 and $150 per course, which usually lasts 4 to 6 weeks. Your woofer will learn 5-star manners, but remember, weekly attendance is a must. Not all trainers are available to give make-up classes if you miss a week.
Looking for training that allows for one on one instruction with a trainer? Dog trainers on the Wag! platform are just what you need. For rates as low as $60 per hour, you’ll enjoy learning right alongside your pup, thanks to knowledgeable and flexible trainers. Chat with an Aliso Viejo dog trainer to plan Fifi’s lesson, and pay directly in-app for a convenient and affordable solution.
Alisa Viejo prides itself on being a walkable community and has oodles of park space to prove it! The views around Aliso Viejo are beautiful. Orange County is waiting to be explored! It’s a dog-friendly place fur sure, and with lush green spaces within a moment’s reach, local doggos want to be outside all day.
Canine kids exploring this picturesque city need to be on a 6-foot leash and sporting a license and rabies tag. Grab a pocketful of treats and a few waste bags and head out the door!
Neighboring Costa Mesa is the place to go if your dog loves ducks! Costa Mesa Bark Park at Tewinkle Park is a water wonder with duck ponds, mini-waterfalls, and even a set of rapids within its artificial waterway. Bring along doggy waste bags to keep this pawpular park pristine for all.
Train your dog to run alongside your bike and make a day of it at Aliso Creek Regional Bikeway Riding and Hiking Trail. The trail comprises 15 pupperific miles with multiple rest areas and plenty of places to hop off the path once you’ve had enough. Not all of the trails are open to four-leggers, so keep your eye out for signage.
Is your dog a handful when on the leash and not quite ready to hit the parks and trails? Connect with a local Aliso Viejo dog trainer – they are always happy to assist!
The city of Aliso Viejo is all about the green spaces, the sunny skies, and the warm California temperatures. This may make you wonder how one of the top dogs in this part of the state is the double-coated Siberian Husky. Not to worry, the Husky will shed a lot of this coat in the warmer months as a way to cool the body. Despite the thick coat, this dog should never be shaved.
Enjoying sunny California right alongside the big and furry Husky are the Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. The Chi-Chis and the Chi Apsos are right at home in this beautiful city, happy to be a part of the crowd.
The American Pit Bull Terrier calls Aliso Viejo home, too. This stocky dog may sometimes look foreboding but can be a softy at heart. Whether their personality is forward or shy, training is a necessity because of their sheer strength. You want to walk your dog, not have them walk you!
To be in a pawsome partnership with your pooch no matter their size or breed, dog training is what you need to do to forge an incredible bond. Book your first lesson with a dog trainer with Wag! and start on the road to a lifetime of adventure!
