“Dogs are my kind of people!”

I have over 20 years of experience owning, caring for and training many dog breeds. I graduated with a BS in Zoology because working with animals has always been a passion of mine. My previous work as a Veterinary Assistant, and current Veterinary Technician school attendance, gives me the insight required to properly care for and respect each dog’s individual needs. Dogs hold a special place in my heart, so I am thrilled to have a job that gives me the opportunity to make them smile everyday.

About Dog Training in Alpine, CA

Training Fun Fact #1:

Do you have room for a big dog in your life and a whole lotta love in your lap? Go for a Swissy Saint, then! This pawsome dog can fill both requirements. Described as even-tempered, this pupster is very willing to learn. They’ll need a big yard to play in, and will be at their best when trained to not bowl over guests when they arrive. The Swissy Saint may not know their own strength!

Training Fun Fact #2:

Teaching your dog to make an emergency stop is a very useful task. Although you may keep your doggo safe in the yard, if they ever get out and head off in pursuit of a squirrel, you just don’t know what may happen! Using a verbal command is essential because when on the run, your pursuing pup may not see a gesture command.

Training Fun Fact #3:

Does your dog need to brush up on sitting still for grooming? Do they fight the process tooth and nail? Get your dog used to nail clipping by handling their feet when at rest, touching and manipulating the toes before ever trying to trim a nail. When it’s time to teach them, do one or two claws at a time. The next day, do two more.

Average Cost of Dog Training in Alpine, CA

What is the typical rate for dog training in Alpine? This can depend on a few factors. How old is your pooch? Do they know any commands at all? Or is this all new to them?

Private in-home instruction typically runs in the ballpark of $150 to $175 per hour. This fee may include travel expenses for the instructor or could be added to the cost. Practice makes perfect, so expect to go over what's been learned at home in between lessons with the trainer.

Does your winsome woofer wow everyone with their outgoing personality? If they're an extroverted dog that loves to be in the spotlight, then a group class may be just the environment to put training in place. In Alpine, group instruction will cost about $120 for a 5 week course. If your dog is timid, though, group lessons are not always the right fit.

Are you hoping to train right alongside your furiendly four-legger under the watchful eye of a trainer who knows the scoop? For training you can count on, look to the Wag! platform. For rates as low as $60 per one-hour session, personalized in-home training is yours. Going Off-Leash in Alpine, CA

Being just a few minutes from San Diego, Alpine is no stranger to sun and warm weather. This means you can spend as much time outside with your doggo as you like!

Alpine is known for its incredible scenery with mountainous views and opportunities for amazing outdoor experiences at every turn. Why not start with off-leash fun at Montevalle Dog Park (at Rolling Hills Ranch)? This large, enclosed area provides shade on sunny days, and there are water fountains to keep your furry pal hydrated.

Living so close to the beach means pupperific times await at the shore! Head to Mission Beach Promenade, where the action never stops! Check the signage for pooch-approved hours because during peak season, there are some times when there is just no room for pups on the beach. But that’s okay; check out the promenade and stop at a dog-furiendly destination for a refreshment fit for a king.

Before hitting local beaches, parks, and trails, register your dynamic doggo with Alpine’s Animal Control office and bring along your dog’s proof of immunization against rabies. That will secure you a dog tag to be worn by your pup at all times. Pick up after your pooch, train and socialize them, and you’ll have the best park partner you could ever want!
