My name is Kiefer, I'm an enthusiastic animal-lover living and working in San Francisco. I grew up with a pit bull/Great Dane mutt named Bandit and a couple of cats. After Bandit, we adopted a border collie/black lab mix and a greyhound/black lab mix from our local animal shelter. When I moved away for college, I filled my dog void by spending ~10 hr/week at the Humane Society as a senior volunteer; I was responsible for cleaning, feeding, basic agility and training, and off-site socialization and exercise. I've had a great love for dogs since I was a child and miss having them as a constant in my life. I aim to provide your dog with all of my affection and attention!

Woof! My name is Kelly and I can't wait to meet your best friend. I am a mature, responsible paralegal student and I abide by the rule of paw--happiness and fun! I have been a dog owner all my life (which has included training classes) and I am incredibly devoted to the development of positive interaction and relationship building with canines. I am keenly aware of canine communication signals and positive guidance methods in order to further mutual cooperation with the client. I confess to my "happy-goofy" nature with my clients and I am NOT embarrassed to be seen and heard by others using high pitched "happy talk" on a walk! Let's meet!

About Dog Training in Daly City, CA

Training Fun Fact #1:

One of the most important skills to teach your dog is how to walk on a leash properly. Pulling, lunging at a passing squirrel, and passing from side to side in front of you are all behaviors that can become tiresome. Whether your canine sidekick is a young pup or a senior member of your household, it’s possible to teach them leash manners with a little work. The correct dog walking equipment is a must. A sturdy leash six-feet long, a comfortable collar that fits correctly, and poop bags are essentials to the task.

Training Fun Fact #2:

Living with a pooch that cries in the night is not a viable long-term situation for anyone. Your dog won’t get any sleep, and you certainly won’t either. What makes a dog pine at night? Missing littermates, adjusting to a new home, or just the innate desire to sleep in a pack are all reasons for a dog to cry at night. Providing a comfy place for Fido to rest day or night is the way to go. Background noise often helps, and young pups may even settle with the tick-tock of an alarm clock.

Training Fun Fact #3:

Do you need help with some chores around the house? How about laundry? Teaching your dog to sort laundry can be a real time saver. Our pooches are smart creatures and can understand more than you know. Sorting the dark clothes from the light is one method. Instructing them to sort by type involves teaching your four-legger the difference between socks and towels.

Dogs thrive on attention, that we all know. And that’s exactly why dog training is an ideal pastime for them. Not only do they get to use their brains, but they also get to spend time with you. That makes them very happy.

When searching for dog training in Daly City, keep in mind your pup’s skill level and social aptitude. These are some of the questions you’ll be asked when signing up. Group lessons are just the ticket for a canine who loves both people and dogs. Take them to training and let them make new friends. For a 5 week course, expect to pay around $180.

Your woofer may be friendly but a little on the shy side, needing to build confidence and independence. In this case, private in-home lessons may be the solution. In Daly City, private instruction is typically given in one-hour sessions and costs, on average, between $100 and $200 for each lesson.

Some pet parents like to have a professional do the work at a board and train program. Fido is sent off to doggo boot camp and comes back trained and ready to please. The work does not stop there, though. Continued reinforcement of the commands taught is a must. For this type of service, expect to pay in the ballpark of $1400 a week.

Planning on learning the ropes of proper canine behavior right at your pup’s side and looking for lessons that suit your hectic work schedule? Look to private in-home dog training with a vetted trainer. Download the Wag! app and chat with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable trainer to set up Fido’s first lesson. For just $60 per one-hour session, a Wag!-approved trainer will help you customize lessons tailored just for your special friend.
