Hi My name is Chris. I have been very lucky to grow up in a family that loves dogs. I currently own a pack of 3 ( 80 lb Goldendoodle, 20 lb Poodle mix, 40 lb German Shepard). My German Shepherd is a tripod ( only has 3 legs) and she is trained and certified for dog therapy. As a dog therapy team we visit senior homes, colleges/universities, and medical buildings. I have owned or worked with many different breeds ( Basset Hounds, Labradors, Bullmastiffs, Clumber Spaniel, English Bulldogs, Pit bulls, Airedales, Jack Russel Terriers, Poodles, Doberman Pinchers...) I enjoy walking dogs and training dogs. Thanks!

About Dog Training in Garden Grove, CA

Training Fun Fact #1:

Is your curious dog tall enough to get a great view of the counter or tabletop? Teaching a dog to not counter surf is possible, but you’ve got to work to do your part, too. Keep counters clear of dog-approved snacks that are just too hard to resist. Teach your long-legged furry pal the “off” command and enforce it every time an attempt to peruse the counter is made.

Training Fun Fact #2:

Most dogs love a crate and consider it a cozy den, or a spot to go to for relaxation and quiet. To introduce a crate to your dog, start by feeding them in front of the crate and eventually moving their bowl inside it at mealtime. You don’t have to feed your pooch in the crate furever moving forward, but it is a great way to allow them a positive association with it.

Training Fun Fact #3:

Though some want to teach their dog to not bark when the doorbell rings, others encourage it. If that’s you, there are proper ways to go about the training. Reinforcing the bark, giving a treat, and practicing the scenario are steps that prove effective. Many dogs are territorial and love to be given the job of warning that a visitor has arrived.

Going Off-Leash in Garden Grove, CA

Dogs in Garden Grove are required to be licensed and wearing a dog tag on their collar before promenading along city streets like Historic Main Street. Keep your pup leashed as you window shop and admire antiques through the storefront windows. Safety for all doggos is the top concern here, so get the paperwork done and the vaccines up-to-date.

Once the small details are taken care of, the good times can begin! Sparky is welcome at local dog parks and green spaces, favorite hang-outs for energetic canines of all sizes. Who doesn’t love a good trek? Man or canine, lovers of the great outdoors will be thrilled with an afternoon walking the Santa Ana River Trail. This is a hop-on, hop-off trail. The walk can be adapted from long and challenging for those who are up to the task, to shorter segments with breaks for snack and water. Californians love the sun and surf, and their dogs do, too! What kinds of dogs are typically seen frolicking in the sun?

The tiny Chihuahua and Chihuahua mixes are favorites in this part of the state. These canines have big-city attitudes and love to show their stuff, whether walking along Hollywood Boulevard or playing on a sandy beach. If it’s a day for the shore, watch your pup’s paws on the hot sand and remember to bring along an umbrella for shade.

The Siberian Husky is a top dog in Garden Grove. Pet parents with this breed know that the heavy coat of the Husky means they are ideal partners for trekking the trails in cool weather. In fact, that’s when this dog loves to play. Take your pooch into the mountains on a winter day, and they’ll be at their happiest.

Many pet parents in cities across North America choose the Golden Retriever and the German Shepherd as their number one canine sidekick and Garden Grove is no different. Both dogs are loyal and super-smart, putting them at the top of the class when it comes to dog training. They adore competing and excel at outdoor pursuits as well. Allow your strong and agile buddy to try dock diving, and they’ll jump at the chance!
