I have been working in the pet care industry for approximately seven years now. I managed a daycare and pet boarding facility for four years and prior to that, I was a Kennel Supervisor for two years with a facility located in New Hampshire. More recently, I have worked as a Vet Tech in a general practice and emergency setting, as well as with a local animal shelter. Working as a Vet Tech has provided me with the opportunity to gain the knowledge and hands on experience of the medical aspect involved in providing care to both canines and felines. I have aspired to work with animals since I was a child and have always had a true passion toward them. I have years of experience in a canine pack environment, as well as one on one with most dog breeds. I also have personal experience, as I have two rescue dogs of my own. I feel this is very important when dealing with a client's pet, as it provides the assurance that their pet is in good hands. In addition to dogs, I have grown up living with cats my whole life. I also have worked with cats in both shelter and veterinary settings. From a ferrel cat to a lap cat, I have experienced both, yet love them all the same! I can confidently medicate any animal if necessary, including pilling to providing insulin injections. My main focus is currently working in the animal care field and furthering my education with my CVT. I absolutely love working in an environment where the focus is caring for animals. My ultimate goal is to own a rescue some day. I feel as though my passion for animals and my prior experience would be a great match for you and your pet! I look forward to hearing from you regarding your furry family members' needs!

“Every dog’s different & all deserve the same love!”

I‘ve been a Wag! Walker for year & have been an avid dog lover all my life! I’ve had two very different dogs; my first was a German Shepherd named Tash, a beautiful dog with enormous strength—so rewarding to train and be around. I currently own a finicky, anxious Mini Pinscher who I adore! I know Boston well and have been around animals my entire life, so I know how to earn a dog’s trust before taking control of the leash. I believe in positive reinforcement with dogs, & I think they do too!

About Dog Training in Allston, Boston

Training Fun Fact #1:

Is your doggo a nature lover? That’s not surprising; most of them are! In fact, all dogs, no matter how tiny, need a daily promenade or two in the great outdoors. Using their powerful sniffers to examine the world around them is one of the cool things about being a canine. Did you know the Bloodhound has 300 million olfactory receptors? Humans have about 50 million!

Training Fun Fact #2:

If your dog is rather lazy when it comes to walks and really prefers hanging out in the yard, take the time to practice having them go to a mark. It’s a handy command that can be used in multiple situations, such as having your dog wait on a mat when guests arrive. Be sure to determine what you want your pooch to do when they make their way to the mark. Sit, stand, or lie down – it’s all part of the training.

Training Fun Fact #3:

The need for speed and to burn off energy is a natural behavior for dogs. How to help your doggo get the exercise they need? Teach them to fetch. That’s right, not all dogs will give up a ball or toy when thrown. It’s a learned task for some. Encourage your pooch to drop it by using “The Without Treats Method.” Two balls are key to this training session.

Average Cost of Dog Training in Allston, MA

Group classes in Allston range in cost between $150 and $225 for 6 weeks of training. Does your dog need to learn leash manners? Or have they yet to learn how to come when called? All that and more is taught in a training class meant for multiple pooches. Plan on one hour of learning and remember, weekly attendance is essential.

Private in-home classes are just the ticket for a woofer with a timid personality. Learning the ropes of pawsome doggy behavior instills confidence and a sense of pride in your dog. Fur certain, dogs are happy when they know they are the smartest canine kiddo on the block. In Allston, individual instruction for your best buddy costs around $150 per hour.

Your pooch is precious to you, and no doubt, you want the absolute best for them always. But if your schedule doesn’t work with group lessons or your dog is especially shy, you may hesitate to take them to a class full of noisy pups. And you may worry that your budget can’t handle private instruction.

Wag! can help. Browse Allston dog trainers on the Wag! app, team up with an instructor for lessons at a time that suits you best, and pay securely in the app. Dog training

lessons with Wag! cost just $60 per one-hour session, making them entirely affordable. This leaves you money to take your four-legger out for a doggy muffin every week!

Going Off-Leash in Allston, MA

Allston is a hip and trendy neighborhood of Boston. It's close enough to the city to get there quickly, but far enough out to have its own vibe. It’s a popular place to live for both humans and huggable hounds alike. Pet parents who make this town home follow a few simple rules when it comes to going out and about with their pups.

All tail-waggers 6 months of age and older must be vaccinated for rabies and be registered with the city. The city expects dog owners to keep their dogs leashed when in city parks and to respect the rights of others enjoying the same recreational areas. If your pupster needs an obedience brush up, it’s wise to take a few lessons before heading to local green spaces.

Let Fido loose in Old Cold Spring Dog Park in Newton, but be sure to brush up on recall skills as the park is over 65 acres, and the dog park area is only partially fenced. The nature park itself is pupperific, with paved and dirt trails, ideal for exercising your pup.

Keep your pooch leashed to explore the Beaver Brook Reservation. This is a large area just waiting to be explored by curious canines. Ponds, open marshes, and even a waterfall are found here, along with a few puptastic picnic areas.

Ready to see the sights with Fido? Book an in-home training session with an Allston trainer to broaden Fido’s knowledge and allow you peace of mind. Then you can feel confident when meandering alongside ponds and streams, or even when in town at a pooch-approved eatery.

Dog Training in Allston, MA

Many households in Allston have a beloved family member. And that means dog trainers in Allston are always in high demand. They’ve got the experience and know-how needed to help you get your puptastic pal on the road to doggy obedience.

What kinds of dogs trek around the trendy neighborhood streets? You’ll spot Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers, taking refreshment at local cafés and restaurants that welcome well-behaved pooches with open paws. These ready to roll retrievers are often fast friends, with their eager to please personalities and loveable charm.

The German Shepherd is another pawpular breed in this part of the state. Perfectly suited to cross the creeks and track the trails in Allston’s many green spaces, this strong and athletic pooch makes the ideal partner for enjoying the outdoors.

Don’t leave the French Bulldog behind! This often portly pooch enjoys a hike, too. They think it’s the cat’s meow to be comedic and sometimes show a stubborn side. Connect with an Allston dog trainer to encourage this little pup with positive reinforcement training.

The Yorkshire Terrier is always fun to own and is keen to learn proper playtime etiquette. Yorkies are petite pups with big personalities, and their smiles radiate wherever they go.

Ready to welcome a puppy into your life? Do you have a mature mutt who needs an obedience refresher course? Book an Allston dog trainer with Wag! to create a custom training plan for your dog’s unique needs.
