“A tired dog is a happy dog!!”
Hello my name is Tate Alanis. I’ve been passionate about animals and animal behavior for as long as I can remember, as I’m the type of person that can just sit and watch any animal for hours. Walking a dog is my therapy! To me it’s more than just letting a dog pull down the street and smelling poop. I enjoy the connection when a dog is in sync with the human, traveling together side by side in a structured manner (it’s easier than it looks). No stressing, no worrying, just walking together!

“Corgi Mom”
My name is Haley and I grew up with the sweetest Border Collie named Pipsqueak. When I went to college my parents got a German Shepherd named Sarge. He's a goofball and enjoys his morning walks and belly rubs. I also recently adopted a corgi who I absolutely adore. I've always been the first to raise my hand when it comes to dog sitting for neighbors, friends and coworkers. I'm very comfortable around dogs as I've grown up being around them and helping train them all my life!

Dogs love an outing; there is no denying that. Somehow, a visit to the veterinarian or the groomer doesn’t elicit the same amount of excitement. How to get your pooch to find the groomer just groovy and the vet visit a joy? Take your dog to these see these important people on occasion just for a treat and a pat. They’ll soon be less nervous when going there.
Does your tail-wagger have the sensitivity to be a therapy dog? Character traits needed are calmness even when the room is not calm, no reaction to loud or strange noises, and an overall laid-back personality. Training your dog for this noble job is not an overnight thing. But making your way there over months of training is very satisfying for both you and Fido.
Does your dog wake up for a pee break every night? First off, unless they are a young puppy, take your pooch to the veterinarian for a check-up. Once all medical reasons for the nightly waking are ruled out, start training your dog to sleep through the night. Ensure their sleeping area is conducive to rest, with room darkening curtains and even a form of white noise if needed.
What is the going rate for dog training in Allen? The answer to that question results from a few factors. Is your pooch trained and needs a simple brush-up of skills? Or are they new to dog training altogether?
Private in-home dog training typically costs around $90 per hour. How many sessions your dog will need depends on how well they pick up on commands. Practice makes perfect, and it’s to your dog’s advantage to run through the new skills learned for about 10 minutes a day.
Group lessons are a great way to socialize your winsome woofer. Classes usually meet for one hour a week, and while this is an excellent way to meet other pups, it doesn’t allow for much one on one time with a trainer.
Hoping to train right alongside your precious pooch under the watchful eye of a knowledgeable trainer? Look to the Wag! platform for training you can count on. At just $60 per one-hour session, terrific in-home dog training is yours. Download the Wag! app and chat with a local trainer. Book and pay in-app, and you are on your way to your pup’s first lesson.

After all, Plano is right next door, and that means close to 6 miles of trail, ready for exploration. Chisholm Trail follows Spring Creek with pawlenty of opportunities to watch for sightings of herons and ducks.
There is also the Cottonwood Creek Trail, a hike that incorporates green spaces along the way as rest stops and birdwatching areas. It’s an on-leash trek and does not require that you or your pupster be excellent hikers. You may run into traffic at certain spots on the trail. Be on the lookout for wheelchairs, bikers, inline skaters, and of course, lots and lots of other dogs.
Is your furry BFF making strides in the socialization department? You are responsible for your pupster’s behavior. To help them be the best they can be, call upon an Allen dog trainer for assistance.
