Hi, I'm Carissa! I have been walking dogs in the Austin area since 2011 and started training dogs in 2019. I’m a CATCH Trainer’s Academy graduate and use positive reinforcement training methods. I have experience caring for and working with small and large breeds, administering medications, and am certified in pet first aid and CPR. Being a pet parent myself, I know how much peace of mind a trustworthy, reliable, and good-hearted person can bring when our lives get busy.

I am a very by the book/rules person and follow directions to a T. I am very confident around all type of dogs with all types of behavioral levels.

I also have over 18 years experience working with animals. I worked at a boarding facility for about 15 years. I worked at a veterinary hospital for about 2 years. I have been professionally trained as a pct 2. I can handle any animal care situation including insulin and meds.

I’ve had my fair share of experience in the pet industry. I’ve worked in multiple dog kennels, holistic dog/cat food shops, pet sitting, and even worked as a professional dog trainer. I went to school for dog behavior & training at the Starmark Academy for Professional Dog Trainers. I’m trained in defensive leash handling & dog body language. I’ve also grown up with all sorts of animals, and have 4 dogs and 1 cat of my own. All this to say: I love LOVE animals and can’t wait to meet yours!!

I was lucky to grow up with 4 dogs! I helped rehabilitate an abused terrier mix I convinced my parents to adopt. I began pet sitting when I was 8. In college, I raised 2 labs for Guiding Eyes for the Blind and was responsible for their care and training for over a year each. Due to my experience, I am comfortable with any breed and am skilled at reading dog body language and meeting each dogs individual needs!
