I've LOVED dogs for as long as I can remember. I've owned dogs in many different sizes ranging from 5 lbs to 50lbs and have dog sat for family members with even larger dogs. All of my pets have come from shelters or accidental/unwanted litters and most have had some sort of behavioral issue that kept them from being rescued quickly. I have experience dealing with dogs who are not so great on a lead and with those that have issues with aggression (food and dog). I would love to meet your pupper and get them out and moving during those times when you aren't able to.

About Dog Training in Alpine, UT 84004

Training Fun Fact #1:

Is your new canine addition itching and scratching? Best to head to the vet to rule out fleas. Typically, you can see the pesky critters crawling about on your pup. But, in some cases, a thick coat will disguise them well. Avoid flea-borne illnesses by being proactive instead of reactive when it comes to fleas and ticks.

Training Fun Fact #2:

Dogs come in every size, shape, and personality! That’s right, a shy dog is not unusual – they aren’t all boisterous pups! If your dog is quiet and sticks to you like glue, look to a friend or neighbor for calm playdates that will encourage your tail-wagger to become independent and able to move amongst other dogs without fear.

Training Fun Fact #3:

Mini mutts still growing into their long legs can have healthy appetites! When your pooch is a pup, remember that feeding them three to four times a day is normal and necessary. Not sure of how much and for how long to provide extra food? Rely on your vet’s expert advice each time you take your pupster in for vaccines.

Average Cost of Dog Training in Alpine, UT

Dog training is one of the best things you can do for your dog, right along with pawlenty of hugs and walks around the block! There are several options for classes in Alpine

Group classes are just the ticket for doggos who love to mingle with other tail-waggers, both big and small. These classes can be noisy and exuberant and are great for tiring out a dog with tons of energy. If your pooch socializes with ease, try training in a group. Expect to pay between $125 and $175 per 4 to 6 week session, depending on what your barkster needs to learn. Attendance at every class is important, to keep up with each week’s lesson.

In-home training for Fido is ideal if your schedule is hard to pin down. Prices vary in Alpine, and that is due to the intensity of the course. As well, travel expenses and consultation fees may be factored into the price. You’ll pay in the ballpark of $150 and $250 per private lesson. Often, email support is offered as a bonus.

If you are budget-minded and think that in-home training would be pawsome but just not possible, look to Wag! as an affordable option. Not only is the excellent dog training wallet-friendly, but it’s flexible, too. Connect with a trainer, chat, book, and even pay for the lesson, all within the Wag! app. It’s an easy way to get your dog on the path to perfect doggo behavior.

Going Off-Leash in Alpine, UT

Mountain views and fresh air are signature signs that you live in Utah. Alpine is a doggy haven, with oodles of parks and trails to explore. One of the best dog parks for off-leash adventure is nearby Sandy Dog Park. This puptastic one-acre playground for pups has separate spaces for dogs that fare best with older or quieter playmates. Plenty of trees decorate the dog run, too.

Head over to Provo to check out Cascade Springs. It’s a beautiful trail that offers a picturesque reward for taking the hike. The trail’s namesake is the icy cold waterfalls, stream, and clear water pools. The pools are so clear, in fact, that Fido may be able to see trout swim by!

Don’t forget Millcreek Canyon Trails in Salt Lake City. Clip on your pupster’s leash and wander through a series of trails bound to make any dog’s tail wag! It’s a busy venue because it’s so furrific – plan to keep Fido on the leash, safe and secure from traffic.

Alpine and other areas in Utah are teeming with tiny critters and wildlife like snakes. That’s just one reason that the state recommends that you keep your pooch leashed when out and about. Pick up after your pet, and have them licensed and vaccinated as required.

Having trouble teaching your dog to walk nicely when on the leash? Connect with a local dog trainer on the Wag! app. They are ready and willing to assist.

Labrador Retrievers are considered doggone dandy and this athletic pooch will never let you experience the boredom blues. Be ready to step out to play at a moment’s notice with your ever-eager Lab in tow.

Who’s waiting at the dog park for four-legged playmates to make an appearance? The on-the-job minded German Shepherd loves a spin around any trail you present, too, and will be excited to track the scent of mini-critters along the way.

Right alongside them is the Golden Retriever of sunny disposition, with the strong and capable Rottweiler itching to play fetch, too. The gang’s all here, ready to get the ball rolling whether trekking or hanging out at the park.
