Wag! Walkers know Artisan Park
Artisan Park is a large addition to Celebration located in the northwest corner of the area. It was not developed by the Celebration Company which developed the rest of the neighborhood but it is home to 300 single-family homes and 300 condos, making it a pretty large add-on to the neighborhood. Still a planned community, you will find tree-lined streets with plenty of shade cover as well as manicured private lawns that will require you to clean up any waste your canine friend produces. This is a residential area, however, with no dog-friendly restaurants or business.
The weather in Celebration is mild and tropical. Afternoon showers can be common during spring and summer so grab an umbrella if it looks cloudy so your walk is not cut short by a pop-up storm! Walking temperatures in the winter are refreshingly mild and comfortable and you can enjoy the slower pace of a quiet neighborhood while you walk your pup.
What is the terrain like in Artisan Park?
Artisan Park is relatively flat and the terrain is made up of natural and artificial turf. Small parks and greenways throughout the neighborhood break up sidewalks with natural turf on either side. Automotive traffic will be present with few red lights or directed traffic so use caution with your pup.
The community is surrounded by the natural landscape of heavy trees and small bodies of water. Celebration is built on marshland, so small wildlife make their home here too. A good hold on the leash of larger dogs will prevent them pulling you off your feet in pursuit of a small animal.
You and your furry friend will have a variety of experiences here from park space to a sidewalk-heavy walk around the homes. Carry water for both you and your canine friend, as public water sources can be harder to find. Keep your dog on a leash and enjoy this community together!
How many greenways are there in Artisan Park?
Green space abounds in Artisan Park. You can start with the 2-mile trail loop that circles the neighborhood. This trail is open to cyclists as well as walkers so follow trail etiquette! The ground here is a combination of asphalt, boardwalks, and natural turf. Think about the need to protect sensitive paws if out for a long walk.
There are ten parks in Artisan Park, plus it is home to its own amphitheater! A unique park to visit with your furry friend is the Bocce Ball Court on Tapestry. As a popular game in the area, this would be a great place to meet new friends both human and canine! Across the street is the Amphitheater Park which hosts music and theatrical entertainment. When not in use, it’s a great walk with plenty of open space for a game of fetch on a long leash! The parks here do not offer off-leash experiences for your dog.
