Cardinal Estates is a small community of relatively new homes
just off of LPGA Blvd. and next door to the Westside Elementary School. The homes here are
located in a small area of dense woods which extend on both sides. You are far enough out of town that if you want a dog park or pet supply
store, it's going to be a bit of a drive. The same applies to restaurants, but this is the price you pay for living here and it is one well worth paying.
The
good news is that there is a dog park at the Halifax
Humane Society where you can let Fido run around off-leash. Summers here are
nothing short of spectacular hovering in the 90s and endless days of sunshine. Do keep in mind that once the temperature starts climbing
into the 90s, you should take your walks in the morning before things have time
to heat up.
What is the terrain like in Cardinal Estates?
The terrain here is a blend of suburbia and woods, making it
a wonderful place to go walking. The only bad part is that the land here
is pretty flat and dull. If you plan to stick to
the sidewalks and do nothing more than go around the neighborhood, it won't take
long before you start getting bored.
The good news is that right on the other side of Jimmy Ann Dr., there are plenty
more blocks to explore. The more time you spend investigating these blocks, the
less likely it will be that boredom takes hold.

and Bachman's Sparrow living in the WMA. Along with this, the WMA is also home
to the black bear, white-tailed deer, and the occasional gator all making their homes here. Be aware and alert on your walks and keep your pup on a leash to avoid running into any local wildlife.
