The Willoughby Condo consists of townhouse-style units rather than a towering building. Living here puts you in the middle of the Historic Beachside District two blocks from both the beach and the Halifax River. From your home, you can walk to the many activities along A1A such as the Boardwalk Amusements, Dayonta Beach itself, the Main Street Pier, and a great selection of the city's top restaurants and nightclubs. You'll find no shortage of great clubs on the beach, many of which have outdoor decks near the water where you can party the night away.
Living on the beach is a sun worshipper's dream with 90-degree weather all summer long. Even the water is nice and warm throughout the hotter seasons. You can even enjoy taking your playful pooch out for walks on the beach in the winter when temperatures are typically in the 50s and 60s, even in January.
Willoughby Condo sits in the center of the peninsula within a residential neighborhood. The entire area is quite flat with plenty of sidewalks for you and your dog to walk on.
While you might think that city sidewalks may not present much in the way of challenge, how much of a challenge they are to you and Fido depends on the effort you put into your walks! Once your pup is accustomed to longer distances, you can take them around different blocks, creating unique walking patterns that not only increase your walking distance over time, but that also give both of you a good workout.
Just remember that Florida heat is no joke. These paved areas can become fairly hot and uncomfortable to walk on for sensitive puppy paws. Avoid any discomfort or burns by walking in the early morning before midday or invest in a pair of doggy shoes or boots to keep your pup's paws safe.
The nearest green space is likely the beach where you can enjoy walks along all 23 miles of the coast. Along with plenty of sunshine and ocean breezes, you get to choose between the soft dry sand that can be very hard to walk on and the wet sand that is much easier. As an added bonus, there is the water for you and your pup to play in.
If you prefer a fenced in dog park, the nearest one is the Riviera Oaks Dog Park over on Alabama Avenue. The park offers separate fenced-in sections for large and small dogs, lots of shade, and kiddie pools filled with cool water for the dogs to play in. There is also a walking trail the two of you can take around the lake in the park for extra exercise and plenty of places to relax in the shade if either of you starts to get too hot.
