Top dog walkers in Osprey Cove
Wag! Walkers know Osprey Cove
Osprey Cove is a small community of modest homes sitting in the Turnbull Bay Golf Course. The community sits on the shore of Turnbull Bay and nestles up against a large expanse of woods. One of the biggest advantages of living in Osprey Cove has to be the peace and quiet of being far away from the bustling center of town, yet still being no more than twenty minutes from an outstanding selection of restaurants, shops, bars, and the beach.
If this isn't enough to entice you to live here, to the west on SR-44 is the vast wilderness of the Tomoka Wildlife Management Area. Within the immediate area are the Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve and the Doris Leeper Park, both of which have a lot to offer on hot summer days when you need to take your pup for a walk and the sun is already high in the sky.
What is the terrain like in Osprey Cove?
Living at the northern end of the Turnbull Bay Golf Course has the advantage of minimal vehicular traffic with the exception of the morning and evening hours. During the average day, you are more likely to see golf carts rather than cars, making the community a very safe place for you and your dog to go for your daily walks.
You may encounter a small amount of foot traffic, but even that is relatively little and is not likely to have much effect on your ability to take your pooch for their daily walks. The hardest part is realizing that you live inside a vast greenway where you can't take your dog for walks! The golf course is a carefully maintained lawn which includes being kept clear of animal waste. Thankfully, there are plenty of other places you can use for walks within walking and driving distance of your home.
How many greenways are there in Osprey Cove?
When it comes to green spaces, you are living in an area surrounded by them. Some you can use for walks, while others, like the golf course, are off limits. Directly to the north is a large area of undeveloped woods that lead to Strickland Bay. There are trails running throughout this area for you and your pup to take walks in the shade.
To the west, the woods lead to Doris Leeper Park and the Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve, two vast areas of forests and trails to the north. While you and your dog are hiking through these areas, you may not see much in the way of pedestrian traffic earlier in the day, but you never know what type of local wildlife you might encounter on your walks. Black bear, whitetail deer, and many others live here and see you as the intruder. They may become aggressive to protect their home, so be cautious and do not approach any wildlife.
