Top dog walkers in Smyrna West
Wag! Walkers know Smyrna West
Smyrna West is an assisted living facility on Milford Place which sits in a nice quiet neighborhood filled with single-family homes and lots of shaded streets. This is the perfect place to live when you have a dog, whether you live in the facility or in one of the many homes in the area. While the homes are older with large yards, you are still close to SR-44 which can be used to take you to I-95 and all points north and south. It can also be used to take you into town and all the way to the beach.
Living here also puts you within a five to ten-minute drive of essential amenities such as grocery stores, hardware stores, pet supply stores, and a selection of excellent restaurants both on the mainland side of town and over on the beachside. There is also a pair of small community parks nearby for you to take your walks in.
What is the terrain like in Smyrna West?
One of the reasons so many people choose to live in the vicinity of Smyrna West is the relative peace and quiet the neighborhood offers. The nearest major road is SR-44 which is several blocks to the south. Rush hours can be a bit busy with so many family homes in the area as can the times when the school buses are running.
One thing to keep in mind when walking your dog in the area during the day is that there is likely to be lots of small children running around. While your dog might be comfortable around kids, not all children are comfortable around dogs. Keep your pup on a short leash as this will give you far better control. Also note that if you use the park and your dog uses the bathroom on the grass, be kind and clean up after them so everyone can enjoy the park.
How many greenways are there in Smyrna West?
There are two small parks nearby, both of which are not much more than a patch of grass with just enough room for you and your dog to play on. A little further to the west are Otter Parks North and South. These are two halves of the same park cut in two by the New Smyrna Beach Multi-Use Trail. The parks are covered in dense woods with plenty of trails to explore or you can go for long walks on the Multi-Use Trail that runs from Jungle Road all the way out to I-95.
If you prefer the sights and smells of the ocean, the beach is a ten-minute drive to the east. Provided you come out early in the morning, the two of you should pretty much have the beach to yourselves. If you wait until later in the day, it is likely to be crowded with tourists and locals enjoying the warm weather.
