Top dog walkers in Waterway East Condo
Wag! Walkers know Waterway East Condo
The Waterway East Condo sits on the North Causeway, surrounded by the Indian River. The Causeway itself is a main route to and from the mainland side of town and over to the beachside. As such, it tends to be a bustling road from the early morning hours until late into the evening. However, there are alternatives to walking your dog along this busy road unless you want to head back to the mainland or over to the beachside.
The condos have private docks for those who own boats, a swimming pool, shuffleboard courts, and plenty of grass. A five-minute drive over to historic Flagler Avenue on the beachside will take you to one of the most historic streets in the area. Here, you will find numerous restaurants, boutiques, eclectic stores, pubs, and taverns, along with direct access to the beach for everyone in your family, including your four-legged friend.
What is the terrain like in Waterway East Condo?
The island tends to be a bustling place most of the time, at least along the causeway itself. But once you get off the main road, the traffic tends to be more manageable and safer for you and your dog to go for your daily strolls. There are plenty of paths and sidewalks for the two of you to follow that will help keep you away from the main flow of traffic.
The land on the island is flat, as you might expect on a somewhat developed island which, as you can imagine, has very little in the way of challenge to offer you or your dog on your strolls. But what it lacks in challenge, you can make up for by adding a hike over the bridge to the beach with your pup before making use of the sand to add distance and challenge to your walks on a warm summer day.
How many greenways are there in Waterway East Condo?
The island has only one small park at the easternmost tip of the island. Buena Vista Park is only a small space, but has a walking path and plenty of grass. If you are the proud owner of a small boat, you can take your dog out for a ride in the Mosquito Lagoon Aquatic Preserve.
To the north of you is the Spruce Creek Preserve. This nature preserve covers over 1,600 acres of Florida woods and swamplands. The miles of trails will take you through a number of different types of terrain, past a 15-foot high observation tower that looks out over the swamps, and finally, all the way north to Rose Bay. It’s a good three-mile hike from one end to the other, but the exercise and the views are more than worth the walk. Plus, most of the trails are heavily shaded, making them a good place to stay cool during your summer walks.
