Wag! Walkers know Kingston Park
Living in Kingston Park is truly living the Florida dream. The homes here all sit on the banks of the Matanzas River and offer views of dolphins playing and amazing sunsets. Of course, if you get tired of looking at the beautiful waters of the Matanzas, there is always that other body of water to the east. There are pet stores in Ormond Beach and on the mainland. A1A is dotted with quaint restaurants and chain fast food joints for you to sample and more.
One of the great things about living in the Kingston Park area is that you are far enough removed from the beaches and A1A that with the Bicentennial Park as a buffer, you feel quite isolated from the noise of the tourist trade. At the same time, you are close enough to hit the beaches and enjoy soaking up the sun and sand with your pooch.
What is the terrain like in Kingston Park?
The terrain here is mostly natural as the vast majority of the community consists of the Michael Crotty Bicentennial Park. Beyond this, however, the homes all have large yards with plenty of room for your pup to run around in. Keep in mind that all of the yards end on the Matanzas River and most have their own dock jutting out into the water.
The ground itself is mostly flat with no sidewalks for you and your pup to walk on, but as long as you wear light-colored clothing and walk against the traffic, you should be able to navigate fairly well. Your best bet is to cross John Anderson Blvd. and use the side streets for your walks. None of these have sidewalks either so you will need to be careful as you walk along them towards the beach for your daily jog before the rest of the world wakes up.
How many greenways are there in Kingston Park?
If you live in Kingston Park, you should consider yourself very lucky! The community sits across the street from the Michael Crotty Bicentennial Park that covers 40 acres running between John Anderson Drive and A1A. The park offers nature trails that run throughout the park where you just might see raccoons, gopher tortoises, and any number of native birds. The best part of this park is that it also includes a 4-acre fenced-in dog park. For the human members of your family, the park also offers tennis and basketball courts, a softball field, and a place where you can park for free and walk across A1A to the beach and pristine waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
If you're up for a drive north on A1A, there are several areas of wetlands with trails running through them for you and your four-legged friend to enjoy wandering through whenever you get the chance.
