Like most of South Florida, Davie has a humid, tropical climate. It may feel like summer all year round! In Davie, you'll experience two seasons: wet and dry. The wet season, which happens during the summer months, also aligns with hurricane season. The rest of the year, however, will still be hot, but you and Fido shouldn't have to worry about the humidity.
While made of mostly artificial terrain, Davie does have plenty of greenways and small lakes throughout the neighborhood. Additionally, this neighborhood is rather flat, as is the rest of South Florida. There are several major roadways that go through Davie, but many of the residential communities have well-maintained sidewalks to help keep you and Fido safe from any oncoming or high-speed traffic. Many of the commercial areas are located on larger, more congested roads, so pedestrians may wish to remain in the more residential parts of the community to avoid running afoul of any vehicles.
The boundaries of Davie include Interstate 595 Expressway and Port Everglades Expressway to the north, South State Road 7 to the east, Stirling Road, Griffin Road, and Davie Road Extension to the south, and Weston Road to the west. Other major roadways going through the Davie neighborhood include South University Drive, South Flamingo Road, and Florida's Turnpike.
Even for the size of Davie, there seems to be only one dog park in the neighborhood. Peaceful Ridge Dog Park is a fenced-in, grassy park with plenty of room for your pup to race around and meet other local dogs. Thankfully, there are around six other dog parks in the surrounding areas if you and Fido are looking to explore outside of Davie.
