Top dog walkers in Country Walk
Wag! Walkers know Country Walk
Country Walk is a large residential community of upscale single-family houses located close to South Nova Road and Reed Canal Park. In the center of the area, there is a small lake and the developers saw fit to add sidewalks throughout. Access to the neighborhood is from either Madeline Avenue or Reed Canal Road.
One thing about having a home here is that you have the option to go north on South Nova Road into South Daytona and the shops along Beville Road, or you can go south to Dunlawton Avenue which happens to be the central shopping district for Port Orange. You are equidistant from either location.
For fun, Reed Canal Park is within walking distance and so are the Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens. You and your dog can even be on the beach in less than fifteen minutes! Or you can be at the local off-leash dog park in about the same amount of time.
What is the terrain like in Country Walk?
Because Country Walk is a residential community, you can expect a reasonable amount of traffic during the usual morning and afternoon rush hours. However, like most residential neighborhoods, there is that sweet spot between the morning and afternoon rushes when you and your dog can walk with minimal traffic. The good news is that if you do have to take your dog for a walk during these busy times, there are sidewalks for you to use.
This neighborhood is full of straight, grid-like streets with no variation in the terrain, making is simple and easy for your dog, no matter how athletic or unathletic they may be, to get around without an issue. The views of the lake may also provide some great views if you're looking for some variation in the space you're exploring with your pampered pooch at your side!
Just keep an eye out for the streets around the local businesses as they can get a little crowded.
How many greenways are there in Country Walk?
There is a small pond in the middle of the community with a gazebo and an expanse of grass for you and your dog to play on. At the southeast corner of the intersection of Reed Canal Road and South Nova is Reed Canal Park. This is a large park with a vast field for you and your dog to run about and play! It also has an area of woods to the south with trails in the shade.
If you want to take your dog out for some good, clean fresh air, go south to Dunlawton and head east over the Halifax River and onto the beach. Find a good parking space and take off in whichever direction takes your fancy! Early mornings are the perfect time to come out to the beach. Not only is there far less traffic to deal with, but the temperature is lower, making for a far more comfortable avenue for both of you to hike further each day.
