Top dog walkers in Sleepy Hollow
Wag! Walkers know Sleepy Hollow
Sleepy Hollow is a large residential community of upscale family homes located behind the Dunlawton Square Shopping Center. The houses here have large lots, many of which have pools in their backyards and both sides of the road have sidewalks for you and your dog to use for your daily walks.
One benefit to having a home here is that you don't have far to go when it comes to shopping for essential amenities such as a grocery store and pet supplies. If you can't find what you need here, the central shopping district in Port Orange runs up and down both sides of Dunlawton Avenue.
Not only is Dunlawton the place to go shopping, but it can also take you to the beach or the I-95 interchange. You can arrive at either destination in ten minutes or less! The city's only off-leash dog park is ten minutes to the south on Spruce Creek Road.
What is the terrain like in Sleepy Hollow?
Sleepy Hollow doesn't, unfortunately, live up to its name. During the morning and evening rush hours, traffic here can become hectic. If all of this isn't enough, both Dunlawton Avenue and South Nova Road are bustling highways that only seem to slow down in the wee hours of the morning.
Of course, as long as you don't plan to take your dog walking along either of these roads, the only thing likely to be a problem is the constant noise they create. You and your dog will find plenty of flat sidewalks to walk on, giving you no real reason to take your dog out to walk along these roads. The only other obstacle to your walks is the number of pedestrians around the neighborhood. A short leash and taking the time to tell people whether or not your pup is social or ready for meet-and-greets will ensure that most of your encounters around the neighborhood should be fairly safe and comfortable.
How many greenways are there in Sleepy Hollow?
The only usable green spaces within walking distance are the two small lakes and ponds at the southern tip of the community. They offer walking trails going all the way around them for you and your dog to use.
If you cruise south for a few minutes on Spruce Creek Road, your drive will take you to the Seemore Memorial Dog Park and All Children's Park. The dog park covers a full acre of heavily shaded grass. There are sections for big dogs, little dogs, and those who have special needs. Each has a place for the dogs to get plenty of water, lots of shady benches in them for you to use, and a rinse station to cool your dog and rinse the dust off!
The All Children's Park offers a pirate-themed playground, a splash pad for your kids to play in, picnic tables in the shade, and lots of trails to explore. The park also has two softball fields, multiple tennis courts, and lots of parking!
