Top dog walkers in Terrace Village
Wag! Walkers know Terrace Village
Set just off Herbert Street close to South Clyde Morris Boulevard, Terrace Village is a small community of upscale family homes. One of the nice things about this neighborhood is that it wraps around a small expanse of scrub that adds to the privacy. As an added bonus, the City Center and City Center Sports Park and Athletic Fields are within walking distance.
There is a small shopping center on the south side of Herbert Street that includes places to eat and a local brewery. For the rest of the things you and your family need, Dunlawton Avenue and the central shopping district is only five minutes to the south.
Along with being the place to go when it comes to shopping, Dunlawton will take you east to the beach. If you go west instead, you can be at the I-95 interchange in no more than ten minutes on a busy day.
What is the terrain like in Terrace Village?
Terrace Village has the advantage of being a small residential area close to busy roads, but not so close as to create much of an issue with traffic during your walks with your pup. As with any residential area, you will have a small amount of rush hour traffic morning and night. The rest of the day is virtually traffic-free but do watch out for the mail carrier!
The traffic on Herbert Street can be hectic during rush hours as it is a connector between South Nova Road and South Clyde Morris boulevard. Luckily, you have enough nearby neighborhoods to use for your walks that you don't really need to include this street! The only other issue you might have to deal with is pedestrians during the day. It seems like few people can resist the temptation to run up and pet a dog, even ones they don't know. A short leash and gentle instruction can make it a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
How many greenways are there in Terrace Village?
The scrub zone in the center of the community is off limits, but two blocks north on Herbert Street is the City Center Sports Complex with lots of room for the two of you to run about. Of course, you can only do this if no one is using the softball fields!
If you don't mind a short drive, you can take your dog up to Reed Canal Park. The park offers a vast open area to play in, woods to hike in, and a lake you and your dog can take long walks around.
Then there is the beach! It's only a ten to fifteen-minute drive east on Dunlawton Avenue. You can park your car and take your dog for long hikes on the sand while you enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Be sure you take your dog out for a dip! Not only is it good fun, but salt water is great at tackling flea problems.
