There are some challenges for pedestrians throughout the North Buckhead neighborhood. First, sidewalks seem sporadically placed in this neighborhood, meaning you might end up sharing the roadways with other pedestrians, cyclists, and traffic. Please always exercise caution while out for a walk and, during the evenings, it's recommended to have some reflective gear. Located on the western border of North Buckhead, you will find the largest greenway in the neighborhood: the Blue Heron Nature Preserve. These 30 acres of protected land help conserve some of the natural environment, given Atlanta's more urban terrain. Pups are welcome in the Blue Heron Nature Preserve, but they must be leashed during your visit.

Little Nancy Creek Park is another public park located in North Buckhead. This small community park has a fenced-in playground which pups are not allowed in and offers other areas for general recreation. The nearest dog park is located in Brookhaven Park, a mile and a half east of North Buckhead.
