Savannah, Georgia is a historic city; one of the oldest in the state of Georgia and in the country! It was the birthplace of Supreme Court member Clarence Thomas, writer Flannery O'Connor, Girl Scout founder Juliette Gordon Low, actress Dianna Argon, and more famous faces. Beyond its famous residents, Savannah is also home to a variety of museums, institutions of higher education, historic landmarks and sites, well-known parks, a growing local food scene, and many boutiques to shop around in!
Parkside is a great neighborhood to explore with your pup. This beautiful neighborhood has plenty of well-maintained sidewalks, many of which are lined with small grassy patches and beautiful, large, mature trees. If a walk through the residential neighborhood isn't your cup of tea, you and your pup can explore Daffin Park, including the small dog park on the eastern side of the area. Finally, many of the residential streets are well-lit, so you and your pup should feel comfortable and safe, even when the sun is down.
Additionally, Parkside is a very flat neighborhood like much of the greater Savannah area. You and your pup won't have to strenuously navigate large inclines. The boundaries of Parkside include East Victory Drive to the northeast, Bee Road to the southeast, East 53rd Street to the southwest, and Waters Avenue to the northwest. Waters Avenue, one of the neighborhood's borders, has the majority of the commercial spaces in Parkside, so traffic may be heavier in that area.
While there are no other parks in the Parkside neighborhood, other parks within walking distance include Solomons Park, Theus Park, Tiedeman Park, and Baldwin Park.
