West Chesterfield, Chicago is located on the city's south side. Most of the area comes under the community area of Chatham. The neighborhood is nestled between Avalon Park to the east and Gresham to the West. Interstate 94 runs through its western side. The area is well located, just a short train ride from Chicago's downtown and with good road networks, getting around West Chesterfield is easily done.
Although there are no green spaces within West Chesterfield as it is a relatively small area, just outside it in the neighboring district of Chatham, there are lots of lovely parks. Although small in size, they have lots to offer. Your pup will love exploring Abbott Park and Tuley Park. If you're feeling a little more adventurous Avalon Park and West Chatham Park are also fantastic spaces to take your pup to stretch their legs. The area is much loved by residents and their pups!
Much like most of Chicago, West Chesterfield is a very flat area. Its level streets make for a very pleasant stroll or brisk mid-week walk. The neighborhood is well-tended to with clean streets and well stocked amenities that your pup might need. Neighboring parks offer lots for your pup to explore. Looking slightly further afield, Lake Michigan lies to the east. The area surrounding the lake has great walking trails and if you head slightly north, there are lots of great beaches to enjoy. Your pooch will love splashing around in the cool water after a long walk!
West Chesterfield is a residential area and its kept streets are lined with family homes. There is a strong sense of community, many of whom are dog owners. West Chesterfield has so much to offer you and your pooch with various parks, Lake Michigan, and tranquil streets, making it the perfect choice for any dog owner.
Although West Chesterfield itself does not have any green spaces, the neighboring areas have lots to offer. Tuley Park lies just to the east of the area. It totals 20.19 acres and features a garden, lighted tennis courts, softball diamonds, and a playground. Park-goers can participate in seasonal sports, holiday camps, and after-school programs. The park is a firm family favorite and a great place to meet new people and their pups.
Abbott Park is located just south of the area. It is another lovely spot to take your pup to blow off some steam. Abbott Park boasts lush fields, an abundance of sports facilities, and a pool. Although your pup will have to remain on-leash, there is still so much to explore! Abbott Park is the perfect spot for a game of fetch!
Although slightly smaller, Robichaux Park is also a lovely spot not far from the neighborhood. With so many great options, there are lots to keep your pup entertained.
