Puppers are welcome to splash and play in the ocean along the Cape Cod National Seashore, except during the summer in lifeguard protected areas. They are also allowed to take a dip in freshwater from October 16th to May 14th. During shorebird nesting, staging, and migrating periods, keep an eye out for signs and steer clear of these areas, so that your curious canine doesn't disturb the wildlife.Â
Entrance fees to all six beaches along the Cap Code National Seashore are collected from mid June to early September, when there are lifeguards on duty. A daily vehicle is $20, while a pedestrian is only $3. Why not walk to the beach if possible? Your pooch will appreciate the extra fresh air and exercise.Â
If you and your best pal would like to continue the adventure, doggos are welcome join their humans for a hike along all fire roads within Cape Cod National Seashore, and certain nature trails. Head to the visitor center to pick up a map, and confirm which trails allow pups and when.Â
Wherever you're exploring in this beautiful, fragile, area, your pup needs to stay on a 6' leash at all times. Please make sure your pup doesn't harass the wildlife and leaves only paw prints. Bring bags to help clean up after them.Â
The seemingly endless sandy beaches, and plentiful opportunities for adventure, are sure to get your pup's tail wagging!Â
