Centerport Beach is located right in the middle of Long Island, New York. Just outside the city of Huntington, Centerport Beach is known for its night fishing, and has plenty of room to roam in the sand, throw balls with the family, or swim in the water (for those of you interested in night fishing, Huntington offers fishing permits on a first-come-first-served basis!)
While the sand can tend to get a little rocky on the North shore, the sunset views and cleanliness of the beach will make it worth your while. Even better, because it is a smaller beach, it isn't overly crowded throughout the summer months.
Residents are able to obtain seasonal permits and visitors must pay a daily usage fee.
While dogs are not allowed in the water or on the sandy part of the beach, your furry friends are allowed on the boardwalks and paved areas of the beach. Just remember to keep your canine companion on a leash! If you are really looking to give your pup some fun, be sure to check out the nature trails right around the corner! Huntington has a 60-acre park that welcomes your furry friends as long as they remain leashed. Just remember to be considerate of other park users and dog owners by cleaning up after your pooch too.
