If you have a beach pup who loves to roam off leash, run around, splash in the water, and meet up with other doggos, then Chambers Creek Dog Beach is the spot to be in Tacoma. Best of all, this dog beach is an off leash zone! You can find the dog beach all the way on the west side of the park, and right off of the Chambers Bay Beach Access road. You'll need to park on the other side of the meadow in the lot, then head down the beach access road over the railroad tracks. This leads right down the the beach, and right into the dog area. From the access road, the dog beach stretches south, and here your pup can run off leash. On any other section of the beach north of the access road or south of the dog zone, or in the park, your dog will need to have that leash on.
Make sure your dog is well-behaved when hanging out in this pup oasis. This beach has natural borders, but isn't fenced in, so make sure your pup is good under voice command. Bring all the essentials for a puptastic day out, such as water to share, and clean-up bags, and always stoop and scoop. Seals have been known to frequent this beach, so be sure to keep you and your pup at least 100 feet away from seals, or any other marine mammals you may encounter. Sometimes the tides make some portions of the beach unaccessible, so be sure to check the tides before you go.
If your pup gets their fill of sun and sand, check out the hiking trails, or even the off leash dog park also located in the Chambers Creek Regional Park.Â
For a truly woofderful day in the sun and surf, you and your pup will love the Chambers Creek Regional Park Dog Beach!
