Coney Island Beach and Boardwalk

If you've got adventure on your mind, you won't want to miss out on a visit to Coney Island Beach and Boardwalk! One of several beaches with beautiful walkways in New York, this famous hotspot welcomes doggoes on their pawrifically scenic boardwalk year round. 

Coney Island Beach and Boardwalk is so pawsome you'll wish you could spend the entire day there. If you've got your pup in tow, note that the beach is only open to pooches from October 1st through May 1st. Your pupperoni may frolic and play along the sandy coast, but must remain leashed. There are over three miles of pawtastically stunning shoreline that you and your main canine squeeze can explore together, ensuring you will work up an appetite, for sure! 

Though Fido is not allowed to swim at Coney Island Beach and Boardwalk, there are so many other doggone great things to do that he won't mind at all! From picnicking on the sand, to sunbathing, or even taking a long, leisurely stroll along the boardwalk, you and your best canine pal are bound to have a barking great time! You'll want to pack a bag full of beach day goodies including sunscreen, drinking water, snacks, and cleanup bags too. 

If you were hoping for the opportunity to play a little ball, Coney Island Beach and Boardwalk is also home to beach volleyball, basketball, and handball. You and your pooch can set off in search of a team for a rousing game to help burn off a few extra calories before enjoying your lunch. You might want to bring along a frisbee or ball for some added fun with your fave pooch as well

Since New York observes strict leash laws, you will need to keep Fido on his leash at all times. It is also mandatory for all pooches out in pawblic places to be current on their rabies vaccination and in possession of a city dog license.
