East Atlantic Beach

The highly-desirable suburb of East Atlantic Beach is a resort-style area where some are lucky to live while others journey to spend their vacation from the city of New York and further afield. White-speckled sand, grassy dunes, and a spell-binding oceanic view entice the tourist to rent a local holiday home and breathe in the luxurious ambiance of this alluring stretch of coastline. This is a private beach that caters to its residents, who pay no fee but need a seasonal pass to access the sandy shore.

Dogs are not allowed on this coastline during the summer months but any other time, you’ll see the locals with their fabulous fur-babies stretching their paws on the glorious sand and playing happily in the waves.

This is when dog owners get together and let their pooches embrace the natural vibes of living by the sea. The rules are crystal clear. Dogs must be on a leash no longer than six feet in length and are not permitted on the adjacent boardwalk at any time.

Every owner must provide litter bags and endeavor to keep this gorgeous beach clean. There is a limit to three dogs per household plus over-the-top woofing or unruly behavior is guaranteed to have their beach privileges revoked.

Locals can walk from private homes or holiday rentals to the beach and enjoy a day out under the sun with a less-crowded appeal. Their dogs are accustomed to casual walks in the off-season and feeling the sand under their paws. Don't forget to take fresh water for your pooch plus a sun umbrella or a tent.

Lifeguards monitor the beach throughout the summer months and there is no swimming allowed when they are off-duty.  Residents of this cozy hamlet embrace the ambiance of a private beach where their pooches can join in the fun after the summer has passed.
