East Hampton Main Beach

In the mood to check out one of New York's most pawrific beaches? Why not stop by East Hampton Main Beach? This pawsome beach earned the distinction of being rated the #1 beach in 2013 on the list of Top 10 Beaches in the United States. East Hampton Main Beach is dog-friendly, and pooches and their people agree with the list's #1 placement and give it two paws up. The sandy shores are known for their quiet atmosphere, but the beach itself is not secluded. Fido is welcome on both the sand and in the surf, but he must remain leashed or run the risk of a run in with the New York Paw Patrol. 

You will find the best of both worlds at this pawsitively awesome beach. If you fancy a leisurely stroll with your best canine pal, grab a leash and head out for the coastline where together you can hunt for rocks and seashells to add to your collection. If water sports was more what you had in mind, head out into the waters for a swim. Just to be on the safe side, check the water current report for that day as sometimes the riptides are strong and might not be suitable for canines looking to do some doggy paddling. 

If you're feeling hungry during your trip to East Hampton Main Beach and you forgot to pack a snack, not to worry; East Hampton Main Beach is home to a few furific snack bars where you can grab a bite to eat. But don't forget to pack a snack from home for Fido, and while you're at it, throw in some bottled water and clean up bags too just to be extra prepared! 

This woofderful beach offers lots of benches where you can take a load off and enjoy watching the surf with your favorite furry friend. There is also a boardwalk which offers pawsome views, pawrfect for photos to commemorate your day of fun. Parking is available at a cost of $30 per day for those who do not reside in the area. If you plan to drive to East Hampton Main Beach, be sure to arrive early to get a great parking spot because parking is limited to only 40 cars per day. Be sure to note that this park observes seasonal hours. During peak season, defined as May 15th through September 30th, dogs are not permitted on the beach from 9 AM through 6 PM.
