Fort Morgan Beach

The Fort Morgan Beaches that exist along the peninsula of Alabama's Gulf Coast allow your furry canine friends to take a dip in the water with you! These are the beaches between the engineer's wharf and the fishing pier along the main road. Although dog-friendly, all pooches must remain on-leash at all times. One of the coolest things about this area is that many of the beach rental houses allow your pup to stay over-night with you! This is a perfect solution if you are coming in to visit and don't want to leave Rex at home. Dogs are not allowed in the State Historic Site. If you are wanting to explore this area, please leave your doggo at home or at the rental. 

During the summer months, the sand can get very hot under the sun. As dogs don't wear shoes, the white, grainy sand can get incredibly hot on the pads of their paws, so please plan accordingly. Also, it is recommended to bring an umbrella for shade. There isn't a great deal of natural shade and both you and your pup could use an area to cool off and rest after a long, hard day of play. Fort Morgan Beaches do not have running water; therefore, be sure to bring water and a bowl to ensure your doggo stays hydrated!

As a dog owner, Rex should always be under your immediate control. Please be mindful of others who may not be as enthusiastic about dogs. This means that unless asked or an invitation is extended, do not let your pooch approach other dogs or humans alike. Also, please bring bags along to clean up after your furry friend. The last thing that beach-goers want to worry about when sinking their toes in the sand is also sinking them into dog waste.
