Bowman Lake is a pawsitively awesome spot for swimming, but best of all, Fox Island County Park has a beach where Fido can practice his doggy paddling and stick retrieving skills, completely off-lead! The Indiana Paw Patrol crew does require you keep your best canine pal on lead in all other areas of the park, but your furry pal is free to romp unhindered in the sand and water.
For $2 per person, this park and beach is a doggone steal when it comes to bang for your buck. Among the many furrific things to do at Fox Island County Park are hiking, biking, picnicking, and fishing. For an additional $2 per person, you can take your chances on Bowman Lake and try to catch some fresh fish for your lunch. As a backup, don't forget to pack something delicious to throw on the on-site barbecues. Be sure to pack a tasty snack for Fido and some bottled water too! Clean up bags are not provided, so while you're at it, throw a few in your beach essentials kit, so you will have some when needed. There are bathrooms on the grounds for public use.
Have the dog days of summer got you down? Chase away the blues with a visit to Fox Island County Park. You'll have a barking good time!
