Island Park Beach

Island Beach State Park is located in Seaside Park, NJ and was shaped by many different storms and tides over lots of years. It is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay and stretches for 10 miles. Within those 10 miles, dunes run the length of the trip and remain mostly untouched, making for a gorgeous and natural scene. 

The beach also features soft, white sandy beaches that are pristine and make for a stunning visit to the beach any time of year. There are a ton of different walking trails located throughout this area as well, if you get tired of sitting on the beach or taking a dip in the bay or the ocean. 

This beach also has a picnic area, swimming areas, places to walk, ride your bike, and even horseback ride! You can also try out sailboarding and surfing in some locations of the beach. There is indeed something for everyone to do here and it is a beautiful time for the whole family. 

From Memorial Day Weekend to the first week of October, you are not allowed to take your dog down onto the ocean side of the beach. However, you are allowed to take your dog south to the ocean side swimming areas, but they must be leashed at all times, even when they go into the water. Their leash cannot be any longer than 6 feet. 

This beach is a carry-in and carry-out beach which means they do not provide poop bags or trash cans. You will have to bring your own poop bags with you to pick up after your dog. You must carry out those bags as well, so keep this in mind if you bring your dog to Island Beach State Park. 

Overall, this is a great beach you can enjoy with your dog all year round, with tons of walking trails and miles of white sandy beaches to explore! Just remember that some places on the ocean side are off-limits to dogs during the summer, so make sure you are taking your dog into permitted areas in the summertime.
