This private beach is open to those who live in the surrounding Knollwood Beach neighborhood. While there are some trees, the beach is largely open and uncovered, providing excellent views of the port and neighborhood. Many homeowners opt to store their kayaks and other small watercraft at the beach, making for a much quicker sunset cruise!
Because the beach is located within the neighborhood, houses are nearby and visitors are encouraged to be respectful of others. Several oceanfront homes have decks that overlook the beach, making it the perfect spot to watch the sun go down or enjoy a morning cup of coffee with the sunrise. It is unknown as to whether or not dogs are allowed at Knollwood Beach.
The beach is popular amongst fishers because of the presence of striped bass, bluefish, and flounder, namely. This is due to the warmer waters and cool ocean breeze that the area is known for. Knollwood Beach is located just minutes from popular Fleets Cove Beach, a grassy area with ample shade that provides a great alternative to those looking for a day in a beach, without all that sun exposure.
If you are in the area and considering spending a day at Knollwood Beach, remember it is private and only open to homeowners within the area. However, there are plenty of nearby beaches that offer the same views, fishing and kayaking opportunities, and room for Fido to play!
