Lakewalk Beach
Access to the beach is available right off the Lakewalk, inside the Canal Park neighborhood, and just east of the Sisters City Park. Parking is available, as are many restaurants and shops that are pet-friendly, meaning you and Fido can snack to your heart's content, either as a pre-walk treat or an after-walk snack break! You can start the Lakewalk at the North Pier and walk north til you get to the beach area, or access the Lakewalk near the intersection of 1st Avenue and E. Michigan Street, where it will take you south over the highways and to the beach area.
Lakewalk Beach features the cool, refreshing waters of pawesome Lake Superior, and is frequented for swimming, wading, and rock picking. Pups can splash to their heart's content! This beach is rocky, so careful of your feet, and paws! Nearby are restrooms for the humans in your pack, drinking fountains with a bowl for the doggos, and trash cans. Be sure to bring clean-up bags to pick up whatever your pup lays down. Also have water on hand for when your adventure dog gets thirsty on the beach itself.
If your pup gets tired of the sand and water, take a long stroll along the Lakewalk. All along this paved trail are plenty of places that welcome you and your furry best friend! This trail offers benches for breaks, and restrooms throughout. So long as your dog is well trained, Fido is even allowed off the leash!
