In the storybook village of Westhampton lies a hideaway beach where dogs have their time in the sun and surf. Lashley Beach is a chic, intimate beach where your Great Dane, Labrapoodle, or Chihuahua can get super happy prancing on the shimmering, white sand and scampering in and out of the sea.
With the Atlantic Ocean lapping at the shore, every moment on the beach is a fun time - that does come with a few restrictions. Dogs are able to frequent Lashley beach from 7 am to 9 am and then again at 7 pm to 9 pm for those exhilarating morning and evening walks. These rules apply from the 26th of May right through to the 22nd of October. Any other time of the year, it’s a woofing good time for all dogs.
Lashley Beach is well equipped for a pleasurable day out with restrooms, showers, an impressive picnic pavilion and parking behind the grassy dunes. It’s close to Westhampton Village, where magnificent homes line the waterfront and boutique stores offer an array of shopping choices.
Westhampton prides itself on its pristine beaches and implores dog owners to bring their own litter bags and clean up after their pooches. Surfers love this beach and travel miles to catch the waves.
You might want to bring an umbrella if you're relaxing with your dog, and fresh water to keep them hydrated. Its thirsty work having fun times on the beach. There is no fee for locals to get onto Lashley Beach but they will need to acquire passes and car stickers. Non-residents and folks who rent properties for the summer can apply for passes also.
The classic rules of most dog-beaches are for all fur-babies to be good citizens and stay under their owner's control. This means playing nice with other woofers and not interfering with people having their day in the sun. Lashley Beach offers an opportunity to enjoy exercise with your dog and embrace the seaside ambiance.
