If you love to take photos, this pawsome beach is the ideal backdrop to snap a few shots of the paw-inspiring Mount Baker, as well as the ferries making their daily runs to and from the island. Something to commemorate, for sure! If you're really lucky, you just might catch a glimpse of an Orca whale as they are frequently sighted in the area.
A stairway leads from the ferry observation section to the tidal region. If you fancy a little stroll with your best canine pal, why not a grab Fido's leash and head out to do some beachcombing together? There are lots of pawsitively awesome things to do with your favorite furry companion in tow at Lummi Island Beach. Among some of the most pawpular attractions are bike riding, bird watching, walking, and kayaking. If art is more your cup of tea, Lummi Island Beach is a haven for many artists who also hold exhibits of their work several times a year near to the beach.Â
Be sure to pack a picnic lunch, and don't forget a snack and some bottled water for Fido too! Clean up bags are not provided, so throw a few extras in your "beach essentials kit," so you will have some when needed. It is unknown if a public bathroom is housed on the grounds.Â
