Manhattan Beach

Think a beach day might be in order, but not up to the busyness of Coney Island? Plan a trip to Manhattan Beach! Situated near the southern portion of Brooklyn, this pawsome seaside retreat is extremely pawpular both with people and their pooches. Bounded on both sides by playgrounds, this beach offers pawsitively awesome things for Fido and the whole fam to do. 

Feel like working on your suntan? Pull up your beach chair and lay down a towel for your best canine pal and drink in the warm solar rays. If you find yourself craving adventure on the "high seas," you can head out for a swim or take in some water sports. Fido is welcome to float alongside you! Just be sure to bring a leash with you as New York state has strict leash laws. Dogs are only permitted at Manhattan Beach from October 1st through May 30th, but your favorite canine pal may join you on the boardwalk or in the off-leash dog run year-round.

There is a $7 daily parking fee to use the lot at Manhattan Beach. Unfortunately, there is no street parking. To be sure you have a place to change into your barkini, there are change rooms and bathrooms available. 

This tranquil lakeside retreat is the pawrfect place for a picnic. Fill your cooler to the brim with delicious stuff to throw on the grill, but don't forget to include a little something extra for Fido too. When you pack your beach essentials kit, you won't want to forget bottled water and cleanup bags.
