If you and your pup are looking for all that New York has to offer, beach-wise that is, you're able to explore this part of the beach together. The catch, though? You'll need to either live in this area or know a Nathan Hale Beach Club Member in order to access this beach. That's right, this is a private beach for members and members' guests only.
If you've got that part down, the rest is pretty easy. You and your pooch will be exploring the Huntington Bay in no time. There are just a few more rules and regulations to abide by.
Your pup must be well-behaved at all times, or else it's likely that he or she will be kicked off the beach (that's right, rowdy pups aren't welcome here!). Additionally, doggos are required to stay on leashes - no running free in the sand and the surf! While there's no specific leash length listed, we suggest bringing your pooch to this beach on a leash that reaches a maximum of six feet, just to be safe!
The last regulation is a fairly standard one, but is something that all pawrents should be reminded of - you must clean up after your pooch! Come prepared with doggo poop bags and be ready to clean up after your pup!
It's also a good idea to bring some water along for you and your pooch, and also think of setting up near some shade or bringing your own. Dogs can get overheated quickly in high heats, but if you prepare properly, you shouldn't have a problem.
