Nyack Beach State Park is the perfect destination for all beachgoers in the Upper Nyack, New York, area. Whether you are just visiting or live nearby, Nyack is a beautiful beach with all kinds of activities for people (and dogs!) of all ages located on the riverfront along the Hudson in Rockland County, New York.
From swimming to tanning to biking and fishing, there are so many different options for people with all kinds of different interests. Spend the day cross-country skiing in the winter or picnicking on the sand during the summer. Kayak on the ocean with gorgeous views or windsurf in the blue waters and use the wind to move you around the river.
Since the beach is open year-round, there are times when the beach is less busy, which are great times to bring your pooch along for a fun beach day. Let your dog romp around in the water or take them on a long walk throughout the trails or along the waterfront. Since dogs are required to be on a leash, get prepared to get your workout in for the day with your pooch.
During the off-season, beach hours are shortened and only open on days when the weather permits to keep all patrons safe. Be sure to check for hours of operation depending on the day that you are planning on travelling.
All dogs must be on leashes no longer than six feet, and they are not allowed in the Upper Plateau area. Even leashed pets should be kept under control at all times. Don't allow your dog to bother other beachgoers, and respect everyone's space on the beach.
Be sure to bring doggy waste bags to clean up any messes your dog leaves behind. Please dispose of waste bags in the garbage bins and don't leave them lying around the beach.
