Old Man House Park

Looking for a unique Washington place to explore? Consider a visit to Old Man House State Park! Situated in the pawsitively quaint village of Suquamish in Kitsap County, this lovely recreational area also has a pawsome beach for Fido and the fam to enjoy. The town's name is indicative of its early roots as a Native American settlement. It translates to mean "clear, salt water," which is exactly what you will find lots of beside the sandy coast of this pawsitively awesome seaside haven. 

With several miles of beachfront property to peruse at your leisure, you and your best canine pal are bound to have a blast! You can pick through the white sands in search of seashells, or plunge headlong into the waters of Puget Sound; either way, Fido may join you on all of your beach adventures. Just be sure to keep your fave pooch on his leash at all times lest the local pawlice find you and are not too fur-iendly!

Old Man House State Park has been a well-known and loved haven for fishing, shellfish collection, and hunting for over 2,000 years and is still home to the largest known longhouse in the Puget Sound region. You'll want to snap some photos of that, for sure, as it is a furrific piece of U.S. history! 

If fishing is your cup of tea, why not cast your line in the Sound in search of something doggone delicious to cook up for lunch? You'll want to pack something to eat just in case the fish aren't biting. Be sure to include some treats and bottled water too. Don't forget to throw some cleanup sacks in with your other beach essentials.

You'll get in a good workout and muster up an appetite at the same time! With one full acre of property to explore, you can work up a real lather with your best canine pal along for some company. There are vault toilets on the grounds for use by the pawblic.
