The park itself offers an open sports field, a playground for the little two-leggeds in the family, and the Lafayette Community Club Center which houses community meetings and special events. It also offers restrooms for the visiting humans, but be sure to bring clean-up bags for the pupster, and always pick after your furry pal. Behind the community center, you'll find a boardwalk to the beach, a lovely stretch of sand and pawrific lake views.
This pawsitively awesome beach was awarded Superstar Beach status in 2011 for its clean coastline, plentiful amenities, and crystal clear waters. Enjoy a dip in the lake, though it can be rather chilly. Bigger dogs will have no problem splashing away. Spread out some towels and catch some rays on the beach, or bring a picnic with bottled water and some Scooby Snacks too!
You'll find this puptastic spot along Minnesota Avenue between 30th and 31st Streets, with a small parking area off of 31st Street. Another path from here heads right to the beach. Dogs are definitely welcome, but should remained leashed at all times.
Visitors give the Lafayette Community Club Beach two paws up, and you will too! Whether you are longing for some surf time, a swim, or just some quality moments strolling along with your best canine pal by your side, this lovely Park Point beach is sure to have both of you barking for more!
