The beach is a mix of sand, pebbles, and small rocks with the tranquil waters of Hood Canal ideal for easy swimming, kayaking, and boating. The park features campgrounds, so modern restrooms and heated showers are available plus a cool kids playground and picnic areas for time out from the stresses of life.

Local dogs and their owners must feel truly blessed to have 88 acres of parkland and a cozy, little beach as part of their daily walking ritual. In order to keep this wonderland clean, doggy poop bags are on tap throughout the park and it is expected all owners follow the 'clean up after your pooch' rule.

Unruly pups are likely to be asked to leave, as this is a place of meditative relaxation where well-mannered woofers are always welcome. A one-day pass to the park and beach is $10 and you can obtain a "Discover Pass" costing an annual fee of $30.

Scenic Beach State Park is a refreshing opposite to Washington city life and one that serves as a breather to folk who make the pilgrimage with their pooch for a fun weekend of camping at this secret beach oasis.  If your dog is about to swim for the first time, put on a life-jacket on to ensure their safety.

Built-in 1911, the historic Emel House which sits in a tailored garden has seen many a couple exchange vows while the gazebo and mystical park spaces leading to the beach, offer a majestic scenery experience for you and the family pooch.
